theintensifier 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Workrate: By far, Team Stampede. Followed closely by Team Indy, and then Team Horsemen. Entertainment: Team Indy and Team Stampede are tied on this for me. Followed by Team WWF. Interview / Promo: Team WWF all the way. The Kliq / Horsemen / Rattlesnakes / Memphis are tied for 2nd. Draw: Team WWF, hands down. If, in Canada, Team Stampede then. Nostalgia: Team WWF. They've got Hogan. Can't really say who's behind them, in my interests, it would be Team Horsemen, then Team Rattlesnakes. Look: Team Stampede. These guys look really tough, and are intimidating. Team Indy are right behind them. Overall: I have to go with Team Stampede, they have most of my favorite wrestlers. Team WWF is 2nd, and Team Indy is 3rd. Horsemen make it at 4th. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Workrate: Team Stampede is the only one without a weaklink so I give it to them. Plus how could you top Bret, Benoit & Dynamite? Team Texas and Team Horsemen are also very good but both have a severe weaklink(Ole,Von Erich) and Team Indy I'm not a big fan of any of them barring Styles. Mic skills: No contest for Team WWF. Hogan, Rock, Foley & Piper are untouchable. Texas & Horsemen, again, are runners up. Draw: Team WWF, easily. Team Texas is probably next cause of Austin(although Funk and Von Erich have drawn relatively well). The Horsemen have Flair but none of the others even resemble a draw and Team Memphis has Lawler and Savage along wiht the R&R's all of whom were decent-great regional draws. Teamwork: The Kliq probably takes this although the Horsemen and Stampede are pretty close. I don't see any of the others having that great chemistry. Look: Team Minny. LOD are scary bastards, Rude has a great body and is a legit tough guy, Brock is ripped and Hennig is...perfect. Overall: I tend to lean towards Stampede since they're untouchable workrate wise and Pillman can carry them promo-wise. To rank them: 1. Team Stampede 2. Team WWF 3. Team Horsemen 4. Team Texas Rattlesnakes 5. Team Minnesota 6. Team Memphis 7. Team Kliq 8. Team Indy 9. Team Michigan
Guest Rrrsh Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Workrate Stampede. The only one thats close is Texas. Kliq would win if its vs their own team, but every other team has 1 or 2 crappy wrestlers. Entertanment Kliq. In their Primes, they were all wrestling each other and Damnit they were fun. Pillman hurt Stampede cuz he was WAY to erratic on perfomances. Plus Bret took too many matches off. Promo's Horseman. As Horseman, they were simply brilliant Draw Texas and WWE tie. Piper drew breifly as did teh Rock. Plus Hogan was a god to drawing. Taker and Floey drew shit. Funk and Dibease drew breifly and Von Erich and Eddie have drawn as mich as Taker and Foley. Austin and Hogan are a wash. This is a wash. Nostalgia Kliq. Shawm Razor and Deisel were my guys when I grew Up. Next is Horesman Teamwork Kliq and Stampede. The only ones that are close is Horseman Look Team Minny. You are legit scared of LOD. Rude had one of teh best body's, Henning looked like a jerk and a ass and Lesnar, when killing Gowen and Spanky, was downrigth scary. Overall 9. Michigan. 8. Indy 7. Memphis 6. Minny 5. WWF 4. Texas 3. Horseman 2. Kliq 1. Stampede
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Workrate: - I would have to go with Team Stampede winning this one. It was between them and the Texas team, but I compared the two worst members.....Pillman/Von Erich and Pillman is light years above Kerry in the workrate department. Entertainment: -Now this one is going to depend on who you are and what your tastes are. But for me, not many things can come close to being as entertaining as The Four Horseman. So I would have to put Team Horseman as the winners in the Entertainment category, especially because they are entertaining on the interview aspect(except for Malenko), in the ring, and all the horseman run in's and attacks could build heat like no other. Interview / Promo:This one is easy. Having Hogan, Piper, Foley, and the Rock alone give Team WWF the edge on this one. There is no doubt that I would be looking at Team Horseman on this one for a potential candidate, but not with those WWF guys being another option. Draw: I really do want to make a case for the Memphis Team here as the RnR's were some of the greatest territorial draws of all time along with Jerry Lawler. Randy Savage has been a good draw on PPV as well as in shows all over the world. Of course they have a HUGE weak link in Jarrett as he was never a proven draw anywhere other than Memphis. But I give this one to the Team WWF by a large margin still. Hogan is the biggest draw EVER in the sport with The Rock holding his ground in that department as well. Foley, did work on the top during the Attitude boom period, and Piper IMO is the sole reason why the inital Wrestlemania was a success(in that at that period he MAY have been the greatest heel of all time). The Undertaker has to be considered the weak link on their team and although he can't be totally credited with drawing huge himself, he has been on the cards of many of the WWF's biggest shows(attendance and buyrate wise). Nostalgia: For me it's Team Horseman.......it's what I grew up on. Teamwork:- This one I would have to go with Team Kliq. They had great chemistry in the ring, and they are one of the only groups here to practice "political teamwork" as well. Runner up would be either Team Stampede or Team Horseman. Look: - Easy. Team WWF. They had the biggest stars and the most successful gimmicks. Runner up: Horseman Overall: - This is where this actually got tricky for me. For my overall team I am going to have to go with Team Texas. I know I didn't pick them as any category winner above, but to me they have the best mix of everything mentioned in the categories above. They had longevity with Funk, the biggest draw of all time in Austin(with the exception of Hogan.....maybe), great talent in Eddie Guerrero and Ted Dibiase, and say what you will about him but Von Erich was a probably the biggest territory star of all time, if there is such a thing. Guest Fook Report post Posted October 3, 2004 Good topic. Workrate: Team Stampede. No contest here. All five of these guys were absolutely amazing workers in their primes. Second would probably be either Team Texas or Team Indy. Entertainment: Team Stampede. Bret Hart is my favourite wrestler of all time and was the one I grew up on. Owen and Pillman's characters were memorable and never failed to please (Slammy Award Winner and Loose Cannon, respectively). Benoit's the main reason I still watch WWE nowadays. Second place would be Team Texas or Team WWF as both teams had characters that were not only innovative but that people really loved. Promos: Team WWF. Hogan, Rock and Piper alone give them the top spot. Second would be Team Texas as Austin, DiBiase, Funk, and Guerrero can all work the stick quite well. Draw: Team WWF. They have the two main draws of the first Wrestlemanias (Hogan and Piper) as well as two thirds of the biggest draws in the attitude era (Rock and Foley, Austin being the third). A case could be made for Team Memphis, especially if considering regional draws (especially with Lawler and Jarrett), but Team WWF drew huge nationwide. Team Memphis gets second place. Nostalgia: Team Stampede. Tough choice here between Team Stampede and Team WWF. The fact that I grew up watching Bret and not Hogan is what cemented this one. Second would obviously be Team WWF. Teamwork: Team Horsemen. They complemented each other perfectly and were always presented as a strong team. Second is Team Kliq mainly because they feuded with each other more than teamed up. Look: Team Minnesota. Easy decision here. The Road Warriors alone win this catagory for their team, and Brock, Rude, and Hennig weren't slouches in the look department themselves. Second goes to Team WWF as Hogan, Rock, and Taker represent them well. Overall: 1- Team Stampede 2- Team Texas 3- Team WWF 4- Team Horsemen 5- Team Kliq 6- Team Memphis 7- Team Minnesota 8- Team Indy 9- Team Michigan
theintensifier 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Stampede is winning by a land slide right now. The only other team that was nominated for first was Team Texas, which was a suprise, considering that Dynamite Kido loves his Tom Billington. Would there be any teams you would add / minus -or- members to be added / subtracted? What team is the worst? IMO, it's definatley Team Michigan.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 The best wrestling team is obviously Stampede, no questions asked, but I'm loving Minnesota and Texas. Texas for obvious reasons (minus Kerry von Erich-- Guerrero was a way better drug-riddled wrestler), but Minnesota has the awesome charisma duo of Rude and Hennig that bring back nothing but good memories. You've got Brock Lesnar who is incredible, and of course, the Road Warriors up the bad-ass level by 10. If Texas and Minnesota were to go head to head, I'd like to see: Rick Rude vs. Eddie Guerrero Curt Hennig vs. Steve Austin Brock Lesnar vs. Terry Funk LOD vs. Kerry von Erich/Ted DiBiase in a cage
