Dobson is not a religous nut. I saw nothing in that article to make me think that at all. He is a respected man in the Christian community, who in no way should be lumped in with Robertson, Falwell and the like.

Especially when the man has no formal theological training and only spouts his queerbashing drivel from a Colorado studio as a radio psychologist. What a shitbag.

A syndicated demogogue furthering his own personal agenda.

So disagreeing with gay marriage = "queer bashing"? Come on, the guy said nothing hateful in that article at all.

Not in THAT article, maybe. Do a little research into the guy. He's the honcho of Focus on the Family, the most religious-right whacko pandering organization this side of the Christian Coalition or the PTL.

I know Focus on the Family well. Have you ever listened to the radio show? I have many times. Boring? Yes. Whacko? Not that I've ever heard.

There may be others in his organization more extreme than him, but as far as what I've actually heard come out of his mouth, the guy is fine.

Hey, Christian fight..

To put this into perspective, Eric wants you representing Christianity in the same way an atheist wants Chaosrage representing atheism.

Ouch, AoO. That's harsh. I at least know what I'm talking about when I use scripture in a discussion.

I was leaning more towards him being a delusional nutbar.

Nothing too personal of course, but I don't think I'd want to be represented by someone who has claimed, in plain english, to have been assailed by demons that were only defeated by calling on the power of heaven.

Don't get me wrong, I've hallucinated many a time myself...

I'm not going to debate that with you here, AoO. My history is what it is. I have no medical history of hallucinations and wasn't on any kind of medication (legal or illegal) during that point in my life. There's no factual reason to claim it was any of those things.
