Guest Nanks Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Shane Warne today took his 533rd Test Wicket, surpassing Muttiah Muralitharan's standing record to make him the greatest wicket taker in cricket history. Of course this is a mantle that is going to be passed back and forth many times over in the coming years as Warney and Murali battle it out, but it's great that both of them now have held the record at some point.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 They got Cricket...We got NASCAR. Do people die in Cricket? If not, NASCAR still has the advantage.
Guest Nanks Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 You people need some better sports. What?? Like Baseball???? Ha! I sleep plenty as it is, thanks.
spiny norman Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 NASCAR is popular over here. I'm not a big cricket fan, I must admit. When held in comparison to a sport such as football (I mean real football, wogball), it doesn't hold a candle to it. In comparison to USA's most popular sports, however, it's in a league of its own.
Guest Vitamin X Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 You people need some better sports. What?? Like Baseball???? Ha! I sleep plenty as it is, thanks. A well-put zing~, one I agree with at that. Funny enough, baseball is based on cricket.
Guest Nanks Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Here's a little something to come out of the 2nd Australia v India test in Chennai last week to give you an insight into the kind of bloke history's greatest Test wicket-taker is. Towards the end of another tough day's play in the sauna that is India, Warnie commented to Umpire David Shepherd, when collecting his cap & sunnies after another over, that "It's just about Benson and Hedges (cigarette) and Fosters (beer) time." That's what professional sports is all about.
