Guest toggle Report post Posted May 4, 2002 Many people were defending Hogan. Many people were defending the NWO. Many people said that smarks will watch no matter what. They were wrong. After Hogan won the title, I posted a couple of anti-Hogan, anti-NWO posts, and turned wrestling OFF. Just like a big chuck of the WWF's audience, apparently. I normally try to have some humility and stuff, but right now I'm gloating because me and everyone else who refused to jump on the Hogan bandwagon were right. Who is the bread and butter for the World Wrestling Federation? Guys like Angle, Edge and Storm. Why? Because they don't suck. Naturally, I don't know why the WWF should Goldberg. They already have a bunch of overpaid useless wresters. But they'll sign him anyway in a desperate attempt to fix the ratings. Take the belt off Hogan NOW. Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted May 4, 2002 I really liked SD! Sure the main sucked, but hey, at least we now have a definition of carrying. Is there seriously a match that shows it more clearly? The cruisers are still decent, and Angle/Edge/Storm/Val is awesome, as shown by an awesome Angle/Edge at Backlash and a very good TV match last night. Now we have Angle/Edge again and probably Storm/Val. I'm not complaining. That middle are was kind of annoying. And What the hell do any of those four have to do with a good upper card? Storm and Venis are extreme lower card/jobbers and Angle/Edge are in a HAIR match. Or the first game of the second round of the NH playoffs. Or the fact that nobody gave Jericho any chance of winning even before the spoilers were posted. A good % of fans read the results and then a good number of those will be more likely to miss it since they know the results than if it was live. Take the belt off Hogan. It never should've gone on him to begin with. You can have a nostalgia tour without a title involved. Do something with the tag division. I suggest they put back the teams they split together again and make the tag belts for both shows like the world and women's titles. Put the European title on SD and get it over. Put it on a credible upper-midcarder to start to get the belt over. As much as I love Tajiri and I like Kidman, as well, they should not be the cruiserweight division. They need more guys there. Okay, I dealt with the Vince/Trish angle without being too disturbed. But, this thing with Stacy is just wrong. I mean it's sick. Why can't she just be his assistant without giving him the implied head? And why must we see Vince so much anyway? Does he really think he's that popular? Look at Raw, pretty much the only times we see Flair are for segments involving his feud with Austin. Vince should be seen one time max per night and THAT'S IT. Push Lance Storm. We saw the makings of it in the tag match. Storm should not be doing Metal duty. If the European title were to come to SD, I'd like to see him as a contender for it. Get rid of Mark Henry. I am a big Christian fan and I took a banana break during his match. Mark Henry is just awful and whatever heat he has is going to die soon, very soon. Isn't Angle going to train for the 2004 olympics sometime soon? How is that going to work? Is he going to work less or not at all? That's really going to hurt SD, big time. And I'm going to be very upset. Keep Benoit on SD when he returns. Raw is doing at least decent every week in it's ratings. SD needs another big name like Benoit, especially if that Angle nightmare is true. As much as I hate him, ratings would probably pick up if Rock was on it. Make it live. Edge's blackhole sucked all the interest out of the feud leading to Backlash. Angle carried him to a great match. Angle should have been rewarded. Instead, the decide to continue this dead in the water feud and "spice it up" with hair, t-shirts, and jobbers. The feud STILL sucks, and guess who I blame. Just saying. ok first of all, Vince is not INTENTIONALLY sabotaging SD! The show may suck because a face HHH is absolutely not interesting and because he likes to stroke his ego by fondling young women. That said, the only thing Vince sees is money and his sick warped mind probably thinks this is the best way to make money. In the end, SD!, even with a seperate roster, is still seen as a filler show just with no main eventers to actually make it must-see tv. Whatever happened with the stuff last year when they claimed the "new" Smackdown was going to be live? They did it for a couple shows I think... it seemed to work OK, and I was sure they would make it live for the split, why didn't they? And I think its sad that with a roster as talented as Smackdown's, that they're still just doing the exact same things, with the exact same people as before the split. What was the point?
