Guest Razor Roman Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 Hey folks, Through the magic of my BestBuy discount I got an iPod 15 gb for $50... open box. Of course, NO ONE returns the CD with the software on it... so I go to the ipod website, and all that is there is the ipod "updater" for me to download... so I download, and install... and nothing happens. No icons, no programs. Just one IpodUpdater.EXE file installed in my program files folder. I'm running it on firewire in XP. Anyway... care to help a brotha out?
Alro Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 Other than iTunes and Music Match, I don't remember what else was on my CD. If your computer recognizes that you plugged the iPod in, then all you should need is iTunes. That was all I installed at my office and it works fine there.
Guest Razor Roman Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Actually I needed to get the "IPod Updater" installed - the problem wasn't that I couldn't get the software, it was actualy that it wouldn't install on my computer until I uninstalled XP Service Pack 2... which is funny, considering on apple's site, it specificaly says "If you use XP SP2, you will need to click on the bar at the top of the broswer and allow it to download the file" or something similar to that. Oh well!
