DMann2003 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Okay, this new Oliver Stone DVD set touts intself as the "Ultimate" collection... How "ultimate" can it be when I know there are 2 disc sets for JFK, The Doors, Nixon and Any Given Sunday and this set only gives you disc 1 of those DVDs How "ultimate is that. I mean, if you are cool with just the films I'd say get it, it's on sale at Amazon for around 85 dollars, but I think it sucks that they make a 14 disc set and then skimp out on given an Oliver Stone fan everything on Stone and his films. Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 4, 2004 If I was publishing it, I'd probably do the same thing. Putting such a large group of films together for a box set and including a second disc for a film where applicable, based on the original release, would be very tacky. Doing some research, I noticed that your Region 1 release is different to ours in Region 4 - we miss out on Talk Radio and Nixon. But you don't get the documentary "Oliver Stone's America", the making of Alexander and two political docos: "Persona: Non Grata" and "Looking for Fidel". Same number of discs though. If our version was yours, I'd particularly advocate leaving the second disc for those four films out if those extras are to be included.

No, I got the documentary Oliver Stone's America and the 2 docs he did on a bonus disc (and a free ticket to see Alexander). The only thing that sucks is that you lose some cool deleted scenes from Nixon and The Doors and JFK (although I already have the 2 disc JFK, so I'm cool there) and a pretty good documentary on making The Doors.
