Guest Ronnie755 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 This is Pwinsider.com commenting on a rumor started on 1wrestling.com. Ofcourse, many people know who is one of the owners of that site. Dave Meltzer also said that the rumor was B.S. "I got a few emails asking about net rumors that say that WWE is considering no longer paying for operations that the talent need due to injuries suffered in WWE rings. Those rumors are totally untrue. One source extremely close to the situation told me that it’s his understanding that the rumor was made up by a TNA official, or officials, as a way to make WWE workers think that TNA is an attractive option to WWE if they were in a position to choose between the companies." Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 6, 2004 I don't see how that would sway talent that actually have an interesting in continuing to be employed by WWE - and the rumour could easily be killed in backstage WWE in one sentence from an official. When someone like Billy Gunn has been released from the company, it's not as though WWE gives a shit what they do with themself.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 - and the rumour could easily be killed in backstage WWE in one sentence from an official. Given the morale situation in WWE, and how officials are seen right now, I don't think many would have easily believed anyone who denied the rumor. It would probably take Vince himself to speak out before the majority of wrestlers would beleive the rumor to be false.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Yeah, and if Vince cares what his workers think about the situation, he will clear it up. This isn't a hypothetical situation - it would be hard to not believe any official flat-out telling you that your operation will be paid for should you injure yourself in one of the company's rings if you're a WWE wrestler, because that could be so easily tested and revealed as bullshit. Vince might care about what a select few of his workers think, but as far as the rest go, I doubt he gives them a second thought. And, as I have already stated, the morale issues in the locker room, and how wrestlers tend to view 'the office' anyway, would still make it hard for them to believe anyone. As for it being so easily tested, what are they meant to do ? Break a leg on purpose ?
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Obviously not, but should the situation arise, they'd find out pretty quickly whether the company is willing to shell out or not.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Until there is legit competition to worry about, I'm sure Vince will never give a shit about any of this stuff...these guys that made the WWE minimum probably barely make a 3rd of that working for TNA, so as far as he's concerned, hey you don't like it, there's the door... Guest wrestling365 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 The rumor about the hospital bills was started by that fat lazy P.O.S. Bob Ryder... The other dip-shit at 1W -- Joey Styles -- has also been stirring shit recently... He posted the following on his website in response to the new WWE characters: "I will not be watching Raw tonight and I sincerely hope this latest tasteless attempt to capitalize on the worst tragedy in American history backfires in disastrous proportions on WWE. I strongly encourage any WWE stock-holders who find this desperate attempt at ratings as offensive as I do to sell their stock immediately. Also, feel free to call the media contacts listed at the bottom of this story." Well, you can insert your own joke, but I personally think Styles comes off as a clueless out-of-touch putz right there. . .

" What does Bush being re-elected have to do with Arab-American characters showing up on Raw? Geez, 9/11 happened three years ago. This is no more stupid or offensive than anything they've done in the past...yet. It's not like their characters are terrorists, even.
