Who Would Be Your Main Eventers If You Ran TNA?

If I was running TNA... my main event would look like this... "Raven, AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Petey Williams, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, The Truth, & Abyss."

 

IMO all these workers are decent.. Jarrett is the main at much abuse here on TSM and I'll probably get flamed, but I think he is usually brilliant on the mic. He's okay in the ring... he doesn't draw well but he doesnt draw terribly either, but he is somewhat known and would be a good job boy for your future, before he becomes a commish or something.

 

Abyss could be your Kane.. he is always a threat because of his dominance.. but you dont need to have him win alot of the matches because people will take him seriously as long as he is a monster.

 

Raven and AJ Styles are both well above. Both are over huge, and both are good workers. Raven could definately carry the ME on the mic and Styles in the ring.

 

The Truth was already there once.. and should be there again. Why he got so depushed is beyond me.

 

Sabin & Daniels would both work if pushed right. Sabin was over without a gimmick.. and Daniels is ME material in my books.

 

and Finally, Petey Williams... he would have to get a different finisher to main event most likely.. even though the Canadian Destroyer is fucking amazing. But these guy is over insane.. as a heel. Do what WWE did with Orton, minus the face turn and build this guy up!!

 

*Monty Brown could be used in the same role as Abyss.. but the guy just hasn't got me hooked yet. After watching that show too.. Best Damn Sports Show.. he looks like a goof lol.

 

*I wouldn't mind using Hall or Nash in an "Austin" type role as long as they werent kicking the crap out of talent.. and just being a commish type thing. The other could be a Job Boy, perferably Hall because he can still work somewhat. Although Hall is better on the mic and Nash is probably over slightly more.

 

*Savage would never come close to my federation, get him out. Hogan would be gone as well. The guy can draw, and unless he is gonna give Styles, Williams, Sabin, or someone a rub.. I dont want him.

Daniels, Sabin and Williams are all good but they would fit better in the X division. They are honestly just too small and they would look out of place against bigger men like Abyss and going over wouldn't be believable. Styles is the only tweener that can make it work because he can wrestle well with anyone.

 

 

Raven has really let himself go both in workrate and physical appearance and is midcard material at this point.

Gotta disagree on Raven. He has been on a pretty solid bad streak for a year now. Until he regains a desire to work, he shouldn't get pushed.

1) Raven: he's a good brawler and still a great interview, and I think his sluggishness lately is due to him realizing that he's been fucked over and misused yet again by a company that doesn't recognize his talent. Raven isn't much of a name, but he's got history, experience, and he'll put others over.

 

2) AJ Styles: when he's not being booked as Jeff Jarrett's bitch, he's actually pretty good. TNA has successfully pushed Styles to the moon while holding him back at the same time. Its already proven that if you just cut the kid loose and let him wrestle, he's gold.

 

3) Ron Killings: Truth had potential to be a franchise player before he was cut off. He's good in the ring and better on the mic, but he's been held down by James and Konnan. Return him to the truth-talking rebel and he's championship material all over again.

 

4) Abyss: if he had Jim Mitchell doing his talking, he'd be even better than he already is. As someone already mentioned, he plays the monster so well that he doesn't really even need the belt to be over.

 

5) Monty Brown: he's a decent brawler, but what makes him stand out is his natural charisma. The audience just can't help but be caught up in how intense he is. I'd just like it if he weren't so over the top with his gimmick. Instead of being "on the hunt for prey" and screaming at us about the Pounce, I'd have him tone it down to a more realistic character.

 

6) Christopher Daniels: TNA has basically killed all the heat xXx once had by running off Low Ki and the overall booking. Daniels desperately needs to be recognized as a top tier guy, so just let him loose with the Fallen Angel gimmick and he'll draw heat gauranteed.

 

7) Chris Sabin: Jerry Lynn will probably never get his due, so my last pick will be Sabin. Styles and Daniels need another main eventer who can work the high flying style, and Sabin is long overdue for some time in the spotlight. He's proven before he can get over, so I see no reason why he couldn't be a main eventer.

Raven could go in and out, as I agree with Mike that his work has been down incredibly over the last year.

 

Monte Brown would be a main eventer in "my" TNA, but I would spend FOREVER building him up. He'd be a decent worker by the time I put him in the ring........otherwise, I would cut his ass.

Canada has a work ethic, it's just one that doesn't include beating up on people who can't fend for themselves economically. We're not born into life on equal economic footing in a capitalist society, and the Canadian system is just more fair in my opinion. It's a true financial democracy.

 

But I'd be happy to talk politics someplace else, let's just stick to Monte Brown here, huh?
