Prime Time Andrew Doyle 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 THE HAGUE (AFP) - An explosion near a Dutch Islamic school was caused by a bomb, a city hall statement revealed. "On Monday morning around 3:30 am (0230 GMT), a bomb exploded near the Tarieq Ibnoe Ziyad Islamic school" at Eindhoven, the statement said Monday. No one was hurt in the attack but the blast caused major damage. Police will not speculate about who was behind the explosion, or what prompted the attack, the statement added. The attack came less than a week after the brutal murder of a controversial filmmaker by a suspected radical Islamist. Eindhoven mayor Alexander Sakkers said earlier that Muslim houses of worship and Islamic schools had been under surveillance since the murder Tuesday of film-maker Theo van Gogh but police patrols would be stepped up.
