starvenger 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Robbie Williams has no pedigree as an actor. I would go with Jackie if they wanted to change the character. He would bring fun back to Bond, and that is a big plus. Clarification: I should have said that there is no real logic or solid reason for picking Williams. I know true fans would shit on this, but what if James Bond wasn't really his name but was the name of any guy in that position? Then it would work to have a black James Bond...it sounds silly, but it's a different kind of twist... I get what you're saying - basically have fiction emulate real life... Guest TheLastBoyscout Report post Posted November 11, 2004 I've tossed that idea out before, and the only real continuation i remember was when Roger Moore's Bond visited the grave of his wife who was murdered at the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. In Spy Who Loved Me Bond's wife is mentioned.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2004 The Connery movies have a bit of continuity to them since SPECTRE is always the heel faction. Basically you have the subordinates like Dr. No, Rosa Klebb, Number 2, etc. Then you have Blofeld himself who gets truly introduced as a character around You Only Live Twice (he'd just been the man in the shadows before this). Come to think of it, Blofeld was NEVER really killed off in a satisfactory manner....last we saw of him was the aforementioned Roger Moore visiting the grave scene, where Bond subsequently drops Blofeld into a smokestack! Bear in mind that's like the first 10 mins of For Your Eyes Only. A long running heel deserved better. That's my answer: kick it old school and bring back Blofeld, and let Bond do away with him in grand fashion.
