TNA Wrestling Impact! and Xplosion from Universal Studios on Tuesday November 9, 2004 to air Friday November 12th. The crowd WAY down from Sunday night’s PPV event despite Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Randy Savage and now Diamond Dallas Page being on the bill. To keep the building full as possible for TV, Xplosion was filmed first. Jeremy Borash emceed both TV shows. Found out before the tapings through a source Randy Savage was not here as he left in fear of Hulk Hogan returning to the building as he did Sunday.

TNA Xplosion matches to air on Sunshine Network on Friday November 12th:

No videos vignettes were played for the live audience so as not to spoil Impact.

(1) D-Ray 3000 & Shark Boy defeated Kid Romeo & Mark Stevens.

Amazing how the Shark Boy ass biting and the D-Ray afro battering ram get over with the fans. Good match that ended with Stevens being pinned by Shark Boy after what looked like a top rope flipping ace crusher.

(2) Sonjay Dutt defeated “Hotshot” Cassidy O’Reilly.

Good X Division match that showed O’Reilly can work with smaller men. Dutt looked good as usual with his highflying arsenal that got him the victory. During the bout some fans got into a scrum so most of the fans missed the finish.

(3) America’s Most Wanted defeated New York Connection (w/Trinity)

Chris Harris came to the ring with the handcuffs used on him Sunday by XXX. James Storm was beating up Glen Gilberti but as he skinned the cat back into the ring Johnny Swinger pulled him down to the mat hair first. The NYC’s worked over Storm but couldn’t get the pin and he was finally able to tag in Harris. The fivesome fought in and out of the ring as Trinity’s huricurana was blocked by Harris who tossed her out onto the NYC’s. AMW won the entertaining match by hitting Gilberti with the Death Sentence.

(4) Abyss defeated Scotty Matthews.

Nice to see Abyss in the ring with someone close to his size but Matthews was hit like they all are, beaten with the Sitout Torture Rack and the Black hole Slam.

As the crew took down the Xplosion signs and put up the Impact signs they filmed the pyro for the Xplosion opening sequence. Then the amazing video produced for the PPV by Dave Sahadi played and got the big ovation is deserves. Jimmy Hart came out to give away PPV t-shirts and Borash kept the crowd hot (for a LONG time) before Impact began.

TNA Wrestling Impact matches to air on Fox Sports Net on Friday afternoon:

The show began with Raven arguing with Larry Zybzsko demanding a match with Monty Brown. Zybzsko granted his wish. Mike Tenay got in the ring and began to recap Victory Road but he was cut off by the still NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Hall asked Tenay about Turning Point, the next PPV event on Sunday December 5th and said all three of them had availability on their calendar. Nash told a “history lesson” to the fans about the Kliq, the MSG incident, the birth and death of the New World Order in WCW/WWE. Nash called the new trio the “Kings of Wrestling.” Nash said they were going to run everyone out of TNA and they would own the promotion. Finally Jarrett spoke as Tenay got the house mic back. Jarrett told Orlando after the PPV Randy Savage was lef! t in a pool of his own blood. Jarrett invited any free agent to come to TNA and then proclaimed they would take out two of the “top dogs.”

Out of commercial highlights from Victory Road played.

(1) NWA World Tag Team champions 3 Live Kru (Konnan, BJ James and Ron Killings) defeated Scotty Matthews, Justin Cage and Jason Stoudat (??) as Stoudat got hit with the triple team leg lariat. After the bell Team Canada members Bobby Roode and Eric Young hit the ring and laid out 3LK. Larry Zybzsko had an in-ring confrontation with Scott D’amore but I don’t think TV picked it up.

Back from commercial played the PPV confrontation between Kid Kash, Jimmy Snuka and Sonjay Dutt.

(2) Kid Kash (w/Dallas), Michael Shane and Frankie Kazarian (w/Traci Brooks) defeated Hector Garza, Psychosis and LA Park.

All of these men are gunning for X Division champion Petey Williams and seemed to be trying to impress the championship committee. It was fun but short as Garza went to the top for his finisher but Traci distracted him and Kash got the pin.

Shane Douglas found an empty town car outside the building. Highlights of the Monster’s Ball match played before the next match.

(3) Monty Brown defeated Raven.

I guess somehow Brown turned good as he came from that entry way. The duo picked up where they left off Sunday. Brown hit the POUNCE but Raven went into Rudy Charles. Abyss came out and attacked Brown. Raven went for the Raven Effect but then out of the crowd came Diamond Dallas Page who hit Raven with the Diamond Cutter. Brown covered Raven as Abyss and a hooded figure (most likely James Mitchell) stood on the rampway.

A vignette on Chris Sabin played hyping his title match on December 5th with Petey Williams. Shane Douglas then interviewed Petey Williams about Chris Sabin and his supposed counter to the Canadian Destroyer.

(4) Chris Sabin defeated Alex Shelley.

Petey Williams watched the match from the rampway. Real shame these two are confined by the TV time as they can put on an awesome match. Shelley countered out of the Cradle Shock and hit a move of his own. But Sabin countered a top rope kick from Shelley with one of his own and hit the Cradle Shock to win. Williams ran down and got hit with a Cradle Shock for his trouble.

Shane Douglas interviewed DDP about his issues with raven. DDP looked into the camera and said “Raven, Nevermore” before getting into his town car and driving away. Before the main event highlights of the PPV Ladder match between Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy played.

(5) AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy defeated the Naturals.

Everyone in the building knew the kings of Wrestling would be out to interfere in the match. Nice to see the former NWA World Tag Team champions in the main event but they threatened to walk out of the match if the crowd didn’t stop cheering for Styles and Hardy. After a commercial break the match began. Styles/Hardy controlled the bout early but the Naturals bent some rules to take over on Styles for a while but couldn’t get the win. Douglas went to the top but came down to a knee from Styles who tagged in Hardy. On an Irish whip Hardy made a blind tag to Styles who hit Stevens with the Styles Clash. Hall and Nash came down the ramp and Jarrett came from the crowd to hit Styles and Hardy with chair shots. As TV went off Hall hit the Razor’s Edge on styles and Nash hit Hardy with a power bomb ruining a good pair of dress pants! in the process. After the camera were done rolling AMW, Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, Amazing Red, Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000 came to aid Hardy and Styles.

So, the point of bringing Savage in was what, exactly? I say he's gone, because the headline at WO says "Savage already done", so I assume he won't be back.

That seems really odd.

EDIT: Just saw the topic on Savage, so yeah, my bad.

However, I am stoked about DDP being brought in, finally. Hopefully a feud with Raven will light a fire under both their asses.

Discuss.

That looks like one of the better Impacts to date. Think I'll have to tape this one.
