TNA's ring

Just some questions about the 6 sided ring I hear TNA uses

1)How often do they use it?

2)Is it a positive or a negative? Both?

3)Is it more dangerous than a normal ring? or safer?

There is a TNA folder you know...

but I'll answer your questions:

1. For all their shows.

2. Both because it makes for some different spots, but it makes everything seems so weird and... unrealistic (if that's possible for a wrestling show)

3. Looks to be the same to me

1. Every show, as OtSS stated.

2. Negative, IMO, because it feels too awkward. I can understand TNA trying to be different, but a 6-sided ring? That may work in MMA (though UFC uses the Octagon, not a Hexagon) and AAA, but in the States? Nah. Especially considering the reason they adopted it was for X-Division matches, but most of the matches on the shows aren't X-Division.

3. About the same risks, actually. Maybe a little bit safer, because there's more overall room, it seems, to move around.

couldunt this have gone in the tna folder? jesus christ.

You should not use the Lord's name in vain.

I didn't put it in the TNA folder because I forgot we had a TNA folder and automatically thought it belonged in th Misc. promotions folder.

I think they use it just so they can continue to state how different they are than the other guys. I'm still undecided about the 6 sided ring, it leads to some good spots, but just looks too much like a gimmick.

Oh my fucking God, he's going to hell for asking about a company's wrestling ring in a folder that encompasses indy and foreign feds! GOOD GAWD, McMAHON!

Even worse, he acknowledged that TNA was an indy.

I was behind TNA doing the 6-sided ring at first. I now absolutely hate it. It just doesn't work. Match quality, IMO, has been impacted.

I'm unsure if you're serious or not about using the Lords name in vain, but I couldn't agree more ... I can understand using some words when you're really angry or something, but if someone is that pissed off about you posing these questions in the 'wrong' folder than they've got to calm the fuck down before they have a heart attack at like 25 years old.

And, having said that, I don't think this is in the wrong folder ... 2 of your 3 questions are NOT about TNA, but about a ring that they use. So, the majority of your questions aren't TNA related. If anything, you should have posted this in the General Wrestling folder.

/has no issue with these questions being here.

I think so far, the impact of the six-sided ring has been underwhelming. I think if a) the ring was about a foot wider all around and b) they actually used the difference in shape to determine matches, it would be MUCH better.

The six sided ring is like a 16 year old getting their ass pierced and a shitty tattoo of a band logo to rebel against their parents who probably paid to send them to an expensive catholic school.

The six sided ring has a lot of potential, but TNA doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. I'm waiting for huge-ass elimination matches consisting of a million guys bumping on their necks and dying repeatedly while jumping over all six sides of the ring at once. Best.

Don't tell the few TNA faithful left that (although none are at TSM, since most posters seem to get educated here)! They'll jump all over you about how they're the #2 promotion in America, but should be #1 because they're better than WWE, when WWE at least has introduced new talent and is trying to push new guys and has a great match or two every few months, whereas TNA hasn't had a great match in a year and a half, and even then, it was just a really awesome spotfest!

I was behind TNA doing the 6-sided ring at first. I now absolutely hate it. It just doesn't work. Match quality, IMO, has been impacted.

I don't think the match quality is because of the ring, Mike. I think it's more because Jeffy Jeff and Dirty Dutch want to run an old-school, Memphis-style promotion, even though the vast majority of the roster can't work that style effectively, considering how restrictive it is on moves and how faces/heels work during a match. I mean, I hear nothing but really good things for Petey Williams and Frankie Kazarian from IWA-MS and PWG, respectively, but in TNA? I hate them for being so damn bland in the ring. And Christopher Daniels' matches have gone from great in RoH and other indies to just passable, again: DUE TO THE TNA "NEW MEMPHIS" STYLE.

So, basically, TNA's faults can all, once again, be summed up in three words, and these are three words I've been using for TNA for quite some time now: FUCK JEFF JARRETT.

The six sided ring is like a 16 year old getting their ass pierced and a shitty tattoo of a band logo to rebel against their parents who probably paid to send them to an expensive catholic school.

So you really pierced your ass and got scratcher ink of AC/DC, rich boy?
