Yes, it's another reality show, and I think the premise behind it is excellent, but the show isn't as useful as it could be. They aren't actually showing the diets on the episodes, nor are they showing their exercise plans. The show would be better off condensed to 30 minutes a week, but this week and next, they're running 90-minute specials, which is just too much. There's suspense, and then there's drawing things out to a point where it's arbitrary, which seems to be happening. Caroline Rhea is also rather flat as a host.

They've committed to a second season, which is good, as I could see them ironing out the problems over time, and the show is doing good in the ratings, which means it'll become more of a priority of the network over time. But right now, I think they need to rethink they're approach to the show.

I also forgot to mention the whole "rapid weight loss" philosophy, which shows me that the people who put this show together have never struggled with obesity, as the goal should be to lose weight and keep it off over time instead of making it a contest to see who can drop the most the fastest. They also have women competing against men, and women don't often drop weight as quickly as men.

As for the participants, Mo should be dropping a hell of a lot more weight than he is, and I think they need to get rid of him soon if they're smart. He has more to lose than anyone on the show. I'm expecting Matt to take it all, as he's gone from 310 to 274 in three weeks.

Sadly..this is a 'guilty pleasure' I guess of mine...:( lol. Unlike you, when I saw the commercials, I thought the premise behind it was...well pretty stupid. But turned to it once when nothing else was really on, and couldn't help but keep watching. The show actually is, in an odd way interesting.

Although, like you said, it probaly should be more about keeping it off, rather then what you lose that week, because...that's really not that hard. For wrestling, if I wanted to I could gain 10 lbs in a day, or lose 10 lbs in a day to make weight...but fact is, in a day or two I'd be back to my set weight.
