Guest Ex WDI Member Report post Posted November 18, 2004 I know this isn't the best of...but Jesus Christ you'd think they'd throw on more than 11 for Neil Young. No "Hey Hey, My My" means no buy from me. 1. Down By The River 2. Cowgirl In The Sand 3. Cinnamon Girl 4. Helpless 5. After The Gold Rush 6. Only Love Can Break Your Heart 7. Southern Man 8. Ohio 9. The Needle And The Damage Done 10. Old Man 11. Heart Of Gold
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Where'd you get that info? There's actually 16 songs on the disc, including the one you said wasn't on there.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Nothing from Tonight's the Night and On the Beach, though, which is good, seeing as how any serious music fan should own/love those albums.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 19, 2004 "Old Man" is my favorite Neil Young song, so the lack of "Hey Hey, My My" wouldn't have mattered as much to me as, apparently, it did to you. Of course, if Incandenza is correct, it appears as if your information was wrong anyway. "Southern Man" is on there too, so I'm happy. I'm sure, if there's five more songs, that "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" is on there as well. Will most definitely be worth a purchase from me...even if it was just the inital eleven songs listed.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...&cart=215306479 They list 17; allmusic.com lists 16.
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Hm. Delightful. I'll probably go ahead and buy it. Very nice selection... "Cortez The Killer" is prob. my favourite song, but it really doesn't matter if that's on there or not. I haven't heard enough of Neil Young's music, anyway. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted November 19, 2004 As Inc said, there is no way a single disk Neil Young greatest hits collection is feasible. Its impossible.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 I didn't actually say that, Banky, though I am generally loathe of "best of" collections. What I was saying is that the two Young albums I mentioned cannot be distilled by one or two tracks.

What I was saying is that the two Young albums I mentioned cannot be distilled by one or two tracks. I assumed you were alluding to that fact. If vital albums are being skipped over, or can't be summarized, it could really be considered unfeasible or even worthwhile.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...&cart=215306479 They list 17; allmusic.com lists 16. I would assume they list 16 by putting "Hey Hey" and "My My" togethr, but I haven't looked it up so I'm not sure. Either way, this will probably be a purchase from me, featuring a few of my favorite songs of all time.
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted November 19, 2004 I can't believe they didn't include Harvest Moon. Edit: Just clicked Inc's link.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Im going to guess that Neil had little to do with his. He has never seemed to be a big fan of 'greatest hits' cds..he seemed to be the one pushing hardest for the Buffalo Springfield box set, in lieu of a simple repackaging of 'Retrospective'. Hopefully though, Neil will tour on this cd. The man may well be the greatest live artist ever.
