Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 So I can't play mp3s, or CDs. WinAmp, iTunes, and Windows Media Player all fail to open whenever I try, and it usually leads to the system crashing. Am I virused-up? Any tips for how to get this working again? I've been trying to figure out what's wrong all afternoon but information is scarce.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Are you getting any particular error/crash messages when these programs come up, or are they just hanging without ever coming up?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 The latter. I've now gotten iTunes to open and plays mp3s, but anytime I prompt it to play a CD, it still goes down. Media Player and Winamp die trying anything.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Are you trying to play burned CDs (CD-Rs) or actual music CDs? One thing to check out. Go into My Computer - if it takes a long time to show all of the drives, then there could be an issue with your CD drive recognizing the CD (it's stalling out on the autoplay). Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Actual. Regrettably, it's nothing as simple as Autoplay. I really have no clue as to the rhyme or reason behind all this.
