Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 So I can't play mp3s, or CDs. WinAmp, iTunes, and Windows Media Player all fail to open whenever I try, and it usually leads to the system crashing. Am I virused-up? Any tips for how to get this working again? I've been trying to figure out what's wrong all afternoon but information is scarce.

Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 19, 2004 Author Report Posted November 19, 2004 The latter. I've now gotten iTunes to open and plays mp3s, but anytime I prompt it to play a CD, it still goes down. Media Player and Winamp die trying anything.
The Man in Blak Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Are you trying to play burned CDs (CD-Rs) or actual music CDs? One thing to check out. Go into My Computer - if it takes a long time to show all of the drives, then there could be an issue with your CD drive recognizing the CD (it's stalling out on the autoplay).
