Steve Austin was recently interviewed by Alex Marvez for his column the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and made some interesting comments regarding WWE and his future in wrestling. The majority of the angle deals with his experience filming the movie The Longest Yard and his acting career, including why he turned down the chance to film a pilot based on the "Jake Cage" character he portrayed on the TV show Nash Bridges.

 

When asked about the current WWE product, Austin comments "I don't want to get too critical of the product because everybody knows I'm pretty opinionated when it comes to that, I'm just going to say there's a lot of opportunities for guys to step up, take the football and run with it. Vince has handed the ball to lots of guys. You've got to break from the pack and be willing to go out and make the most of that opportunity."

 

Austin gives the "never say never" response to a return to the ring, but makes it very clear in the article that he is going to focus on his acting career for the immediate future.

Austin makes a good point here. Look at that Puder guy. He did something that made himself stand out, and now WWE are fully behind him, seeing if they can develop something with him.

 

Or Rico, who managed to get heat despite the lousy gimmicks he was given. Like how WWE thanked him.

Oh please, people are still getting over by accident and making good out of it. Look at Snitsky, for cryin out loud. Sure, being a hoss helps, but he'd just be Heidenreich II if he hadn't have played it well.
