Review The Wrestling DVD/VHS Above You

Recommended Posts

Move this if needed. I dunno if there's a rants folder, or what, but where else can I put this?

Alright, anyway, The Smarks haven't ranted on a Wrestling DVD on the main site, ever since the unfinished Ric Flair Collection review. So, this thread could be something for anybody to get a rant off their chest, and a thread that could inform people in need of a rant on DVDs.

Anyway (Part II), I'll start it off by posting the name of a DVD for the below poster to review. You can review the DVD in 2 sections, the Main Feature, and Extras. Then at the end, finish the review off with a rating, and then name another Wrestling DVD for another poster to review. Got it? GREEEAAAT!!!!! Oh wait. No answer. Meh, I'll just assume you've got it. Here we go!

nWo: Back In Black.

Main Feature:

They mainly focused on the original three-some...for about 10 minutes, then jumped to the WWE Version for the last 6 hours. Tre Disapointing.

Bonus Stuffs:

Nash vs. Goldberg: Yay! The Match that Began the fall of WCW.

1996 War Games: Only worth mentioning for Stings final appearence in the ring for 16 months.

Probably something else lame (Austin/Rock vs. nWo?). Overall a weak DVD that could've been great.

Next...Mick Foleys Greatest Hits & Misses

Ehh, this is going to sound like an Amazon review, but...

Main Feature: The real meat of the DVD. All of the matches are just the best of Foley, with only one crap match (You'd probably know), and one that could've been of a different version (Cactus vs Vader), but still one hell of a main feature. It could be even better than the extras. ********10/10.

Extras: The extra matches are just as good as the featured matches, ECW promos rock the house. ****1/2.

Mick Foley's Greatest Hits & Misses, is without a doubt my personal favorite of the WWE DVDs.

WWE Ramped Up Vol. 1

Where else can you watch a string of Billy & Chuck's entrance theme?

Not a terrible concept for a DVD, as it was cheaply priced and gave some new tracks unavailable on Music CDs and the entrance videos for those who were extremely into having thier own figure federations, this video is a decent way to watch some old Titan Trons, although anyone who watches the whole thing straight through, more than a few times probably doesn't have much of a life.

Next review, Hardy Boyz: Leap of Faith

Actually not a bad tape, was this even out on DVD? This was during the time that the WWE released about 4-5 profile tapes in 2000, each about 60 minutes long, this included TLC, Hardy Boyz, Kurt Angle and Jericho, its worth buying, some nice highlights. Next dvd to review: Wrestlemania XX 3 Disc Set

Crap. I have the Benoit DVD, so I've got the only match with sense. Everything else is crap. Matches were crap, buncha who cares interviews, Wrestlemania recalls, a cheap attempt at trying to put a history of Wrestlemania on there, documentary, and the 10 greatest matches which aren't bad, then there's the trivia. DVD is a bag of so what. 4/10.

Trish Stratus DVD.

And Vanhalen, Leap of Faith came out around 2001...
