LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2004 I got Soulseek recently and I'm only able to play selected WMP files I download. The ones that I can't play I get the following error message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. I can either click Close or More Information. When I click More Information it brings me to a Help dialog box that says C00D1199: Cannot play the file Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons: The file type is not supported by the Player. For a list of file types (formats) that are supported by Windows Media Player, see Supported file types. The file type is supported by the Player, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the Player. The file type is supported, but you are trying to play it in a way that is not supported by the Player. For example, you might have tried to drag a DVD file with a .vob extension from a DVD to the Windows Media Player icon. Or you might have tried to open a .vob file by clicking Open on the File menu. You are trying to play one part of a multipart file. Use a newsreader or other program to combine the files, and then try again. Error ID = 0xC00D1199, Condition ID = 0x00000000 Whenever I try to DL a WMP file from a web site, i have no problem, but with Soulseek I have this problem frequently. Any idea how to make these files work?

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 Thanks for the reply, man. Quick question - with the Klite thing, it seems that one has to pay for it? Am I not clicking the right link or something? Do I want the mega-pack or the regular pack?
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2004 The ones I use are the newest version of VideoLan, and the mega pack, and I haven't come up against anything that it couldn't play.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Report post Posted November 23, 2004 Thanks for the reply, man. Quick question - with the Klite thing, it seems that one has to pay for it? Am I not clicking the right link or something? Do I want the mega-pack or the regular pack? That klite site is a scam, get the codec pack here. Whatever you get, only install the needed codecs. Installing all of them is trouble. The basic pack is for the most common files, the standard has a few more things you might need, the full pack also includes encoders if you want to make your own files. The Mega pack includes Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative so you can use RealMedia and Quicktime files in any media player.
