Guest Desperate Housewife Report post Posted November 24, 2004 Ok guys, I've had my G5 and iPod for a while, and everything's A-OK, but my sister has gone and gotten her own iPod, and wants to hook it up to the iTunes already running. How can I ensure when she plugs in her Ipod, it won't take my playlist with it (which she doesnt want), and how can she put her CD's into iTunes without them going on my iPod, which I don't want. Thanks in advance, Darcy
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2004 Mac help ahoy! Step 1: Open iTunes. Before adding any of her music or tunes to the Music Library, connect your iPod once. Step 2: Go into preferences and change your auto-synchronize settings to manually manage music: Step 3: Disconnect your iPod properly and connect the other iPod. If it starts transferring songs, stop it. Step 4: Make sure the preferences window above is set to the same position. The only reason for Steps 3 and 4 is that I believe that window's settings is saved only for each individual iPod, so if you plug in another iPod the settings are set to defaults. If it's the first time the iPod is plugged in, it should bring up a window asking you to name it and ask if you want auto-synch on or not. If so, say no. If nothing like that pops up or it's not the first time it's been hooked up to a computer, go through Steps 3 and 4.
