iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2004 Just curious before I put down 20 bucks to buy it...how is it?
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted November 27, 2004 I just got it a few days ago, and while I haven't really got into like I eventually will (because of Smackdown vs. Raw) it's been pretty good. The new free throw system is cool and so is the legacy mode. The only problem I've encountered is when I edit players names and go to play a game with the team that I edited, the names change back to PG #2, etc. Anyone wanna help me with this? Edit: Found it, it's under options and presentation... If your a fan of college basketball, this is the best videogame out there for the complete college experience. iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2004 Are the players already edited or are they PG, SG, etc. I know they weren't in College Football games because of the NCAA stuff. I'll more than likely pick it up tommorow. I'm not exactly hot about dropping 50 bucks for March Madness.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2004 March Madness costs $40, doesn't it? Anyway, I'm also looking at getting ESPN College Hoops, as well, mostly because I haven't had a college basketball game in a while. How does the new free throw shooting system work? Matt Young 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2004 I almost bought it just because it's $20 and I have always loved the VC/Sega Sports games. I must know some things, however. Is it different enough from NBA 2K5 to warrant a purchase? I don't want the same game twice. I alsow as disappointed with NBA 2K5. It's good, but not great as the Dreamcast iterations were to me. How's the new free throw system? If it's the same as NBA's,.... ugh. As much as I hate to do it, I always have to turn free throw help on (at least in mutiplayer) because the NBA meter is nigh impossible. I know they've always used trigger buttons to control free throws, but it worked well in older versions. This new game's system is too cheap.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2004 I always use free throw help in NBA 2K5, mostly because it's easier as far as FT shooting goes, and, the fact that I'm not very good with the FT shooting system, as it is.
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Are the players already edited or are they PG, SG, etc. I know they weren't in College Football games because of the NCAA stuff. At the beginning it will ask you if you want to have the players' names randomly generated (fake names) or if you want them just called by their position/number. You can change them to their real names manually though, and the announcers actually say their real names. How does the new free throw shooting system work? It will say 'Ready to Shoot' and you hold the X button until you get their arms at about the proper shot level, and then you let go and they will shoot. Pretty easy, although some players have different styles of shooting, so it can get harder.
