Regal & Eugene, the best pair since PB & J

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – In his first act as general manager of Raw, Maven forced La Resistance to defend their titles in a triple threat tag-team elimination match. After an accidental gore eliminated the team of Rhyno & Tajiri, it was Eugene & William Regal against the World Tag Team Champs. Much to the delight of a raucous crowd, the fan favorites prevailed. Eugene finished off the Franco-Canadians with a People’s Elbow.

 

Moments later, as Regal expressed his joy over winning his third World Tag Team Championship – he held it twice with Lance Storm as part of the Un-Americans – Eugene stormed the backstage set, and doused both Regal and Maria Kanellis with Grade-A chocolate milk.

 

Fortunately, WWE.com was able to catch up with the elated pair immediately after their dairy celebration to get their thoughts on what has to be considered a monumental victory.

 

WWE.com: First of all, congratulations on becoming World Tag Team Champions. How are you guys feeling right now?

Eugene: I’m happy!

Regal: I feel absolutely wonderful. Can anybody imagine what it’s like? If you know my personal story, then you know that I’ve had more ups and downs than a whore’s drawers. And it took this young man to get my confidence back in life. And seeing him achieve his goals has helped me achieve mine. For us to get this victory tonight, it is a great, defining moment in my life.

 

WWE.com: In your interview with Maria, you guys said you would be celebrating the victory tonight. What will this entail?

Eugene: We’re going to go to Chuck E. Cheese.

Regal: We’re not going to Chuck E. Cheese.

Eugene: Uh huh. We’re gonna go and we’re gonna play skee-ball.

Regal: No, because then it ends up costing me $150 to get him a rubber octopus, or two pencils.

Eugene: I still got the pencils from last time.

Regal: No, you chewed the bloody ends off.

 

WWE.com: How do you feel you two will measure up against the other tag teams on Raw?

Eugene: He’s a little bit taller than most of the guys, and I’m not as tall as him. Well, almost.

Regal: I’m English, and he’s American. That’s different isn’t it?

 

WWE.com: It certainly is, but do you think the contrast of your personalities makes you guys stronger as a team?

Eugene: Yeah.

Regal: Yes, it certainly does.

Eugene: We’re like peanut butter and jelly.

Regal: I was going to say Goose pâté and whole wheat toast, but that’s the same kind of thing, yes.

 

WWE.com: How is this title reign going to be different from that of La Resistance?

Eugene: We don’t have a flag.

Regal: We could get a flag. We could get an English flag, or how about a flag with Eugene’s face on it?

Eugene: Yeah!

Regal: Flags are always good, but what about capes?

Eugene: Yeah, I always wanted to have a cape, like Batman and Superman.

 

WWE.com: In that interview with Maria, you guys also mentioned some legendary tag teams. Do you think your team will go down in history as being on par with the likes of Demolition, Legion of Doom, the Hart Foundation, and…

Eugene: British Bulldogs! We need a dog… and a midget.

Regal: We need a monkey and a midget. I’ve always wanted my own monkey.

Eugene: It could ride a unicycle.

Regal: And we could teach it to smoke. That would be rather funny wouldn’t it? It would stunt its growth. Come on Master Eugene, I need to get cleaned up.

Eugene: Goodbye.
