I didn't follow football much when the old Browns were around.

Yeah but he was one of the more outspoken people on the 2000 Raven defense. He retired after the 2001 season, I think.

If he does it outside of a dome against a good team, then I'll be impressed.

Till then, the Colts are nothing more than the Rams.

And does Tom Brady have something wrong with him? He hasn't looked good in the games where he should look outstanding. This guy just doesn't seem to game up for the small opponents. That damn Michigan quarterback syndrome.

Siragusa was an All-Pro defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens/old Browns. I'm surprised you don't know who he is Czech, unelss you were being sarcastic.

Banky: I agree with you about the Bears, though I disagree that the only thing the Bears need to be playoff contenders is a QB... They also need a much better offensive line around Olin Kreutz, and some better receivers.

I didn't say the Bears would win the super bowl, they just have enough weapons on offense to coincide with the most promising defense in the league.

The Bears have a good draft next season and nail down some solid linemen and a back-up quarterback....they will be in the NFC title game next season.

Cause the NFC is trash right now.

What the hell is upwith the Dolphins? Have they really been playing better since Wannstedt quit or what?

They're up on Buffalo 24-21... Ah wait a minute they're showing their last 5 possessions, and they have 4 punts and one INT. Things will get back to normal soon, I reckon. *spits tobacco, sips Budweiser*

Sez Bill Simmons:

Here's why Belichick would never allow Peyton Manning's pursuit of Marino's record to dominate his team: Every time Manning goes back to pass, that's another play for someone to study on film, which Belichick strives to avoid. In fact, some believe that he plays possum from time to time, like during the Arizona-Buffalo-Miami stretch earlier in the season -- when the team did juuuuuuuuuuust enough to win in all three games, saving itself (and any trick plays, blitz packages and the like) for the Seahawks and Jets in Weeks 6 and 7. Or like the stretch they're entering now -- at Cleveland, home for Cincy, at Miami -- before the big Jets game in Week 16.

So should the Bears even try to run the table for the sixth playoff spot? Or should they just go for a high draft pick now.

Playoff spot. They'll screw up whatever pick they end up getting, anyway. This is the team that picked Rashaan Salaam and Cade McNown, after all.

Bears should make a play for Mike Williams in the draft. Or not, if you're a Packers fan...

The Pats have put up 35 without a stellar Brady performance, so I guess it's alright. At least he doesn't turn it over much (although he is fumbling the ball more this year, I think). He always steps it up in the playoffs, so I wouldn't be that worried.

The way the NFC is, the Bears might just get the playoff spot by accident.

Either way, they are going to need one amazing draft. WRs and OL.

And I get the feeling Chad Johnson does a break dance after getting a cup of water. Yet, I like him. It makes no sense.

Um.....this new Browns Era isn't really starting off well. Dillon could get 200 easy today, but I understand why they're keeping him out (Faulk has about 60 himself).

Maybe by "new Brown era" they meant like expansion team?

Also, Marc Bulger is out in St Louis. Not sure why yet but he's out. Chris Candler is in the game.

How messed up will it be if Carolina or Tampa Bay manage to get into the wildcard for teh playoffs?

I also find it funny how much hype Atlanta gets when they've gone out and just sucked most games this season but just happen to have an extremely easy schedule.

Shoulder injury, I think. There's ANOTHER injury for my money league team.

The Bears will be strong next year, nut as much because of the sucky NFC, but because they've always been fairly strong on defense. They just need to shore up their offense. Plus now they have a good coach.
