Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I really think Tennessee/A&M will be good. Tennessee hopefully has their good team cred back since they gave Auburn a damned good game. 'Course, the media would have you believe Auburn let them stay close rather than actually suggesting that we were good enough to come back from one of the worst first halves of Tennessee football I've ever seen and make it a game against an undefeated SEC juggernaut. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I'd be more interested in Tennessee/A&M if Ainge was healthy. Rick Clausen bores me. I think it's one of the most even match-ups in the bowls nonetheless. Capitol One is going to be another close one.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Boise also had to go OT to beat San Jose St. and barely edged BYU by 1. Aside from the Miami loss U of L only had one other game that was even a contest, and that was Memphis. Poor Cal...they go from the Rose Bowl to playing a jobber like Texas Tech. Actually like I've said. Texas Tech while not in the same league as Cal is one of those dangerous teams that can spoil your day. They have a quick strike offense and if Cal goes in thinking about the Rose Bowl and doesn't have there head in the game then TT could ruin there day. Hell if Cal isn't focused TT could be up on them by a couple TD's before they realize it.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Oh I know. Tech can post some numbers. It wouldn't shock me if Cal lost that game actually. It's the Kansas St. phenomenon. Recall when they went 11-0 and then lost the Big 12 title game to Texas A & M, then fell all the way down to the Alamo Bowl against a Drew Brees led Purdue? Hell of a game, but KSU was clearly not 100% into it and Purdue ended up winning. Same thing could happen here, as Cal could just say "It's the Holiday Bowl, who gives a shit?" I especially remember this girl I knew online who went to Purdue, giving me no end of shit A month later, the Vikings lost in the NFC title game after going 15-1. I don't know how I survived that month...
