Bored Posted December 27, 2004 Author Report Posted December 27, 2004 Okay now the bowl schedule comes fast and furious with 20 games in the next six days. In the MPC Computers Bowl Virginia should beat Fresno State relatively easily but UCLA should have beaten Wyoming relatively easily and that game ended so far being the only close bowl game. Then there is the Motor City Bowl with UConn and Toledo which is one of the least compelling bowl match-ups but should produce a competitive and potentially exciting game.
Damaramu Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Is anyone else excited about the Cotton Bowl? I really hate Texas A&M but I'm jacked for this game for some reason.
Art Sandusky Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Is anyone else excited about the Cotton Bowl? Hmmmmmmmmm...
Damaramu Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 You know when I was making that post I almost put "except Kotz" right after that b/c I knew that you were. I knew I should have.
iggymcfly Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Fuck the Cotton Bowl. I'm jacked for the Motor City Bowl. I've dissipated too much of my college bowl gambling stake on NBA and NFL games, and if Toledo doesn't pull through for me I'm screwed. Â Luckily, they're playing a Big East team within about 150 miles of home, so I should be OK, but I'm still going to be focused squarely on the TV tonight.
Art Sandusky Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 You know when I was making that post I almost put "except Kotz" right after that b/c I knew that you were. I knew I should have. It's cool. You have every right to be jacked about it. It's one of the, if not the most even matchup of the big-name bowls.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 I'm jacked about the MPC COMPUTERS BOWL, BAYBEE. Kickoff in 25 minutes, and I'm hoping Virginia shows up. Prediction: Hoos 35, Fresno 17. Prove me right, guys.
Bored Posted December 27, 2004 Author Report Posted December 27, 2004 Fresno State ties it up on 4th and Goal with 11 seconds left. Likely heading to overtime. Â And they win it in overtime 37-34. The perfect end to a dissapointing season for Virginia.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Unbelievable. Fresno wins, 37-34. Tons of bad calls against UVA, but the guys just weren't up enough to overcome that and a good Fresno team. What a depressing end to the season.
Damaramu Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 *pats Edwin on the back* Tough loss man.......tough loss. I was rooting for Fresno but I still feel for ya.
Bored Posted December 27, 2004 Author Report Posted December 27, 2004 Damn I didn't know Bruce Gradkowski's hand was is such bad shape. This game might already be over at 17-0 in the first quarter. Â I do find it funny but not surprising that the only bowl game to this point that ESPN is giving a ton of promo hype is the Insight Bowl since Notre Dame is playing in it.
Bored Posted December 28, 2004 Author Report Posted December 28, 2004 Today's Games  Independence Bowl: Miami University vs. Iowa State  Insight Bowl: Notre Dame vs. Oregon State
Damaramu Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 I'm going to be watching the Independence Bowl just b/c I want to see what ISU does. And I'm interested in the Insight Bowl b/c I want to see how ND performs with an interim coach.
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Miami of Ohio is busy getting themselves bitch slapped by ISU.
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Miami finally makes it into a ball game with the offense acting half competent on that last drive.
Bored Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 Witness the live sacraficing of Notre Dame football on ESPN right now! Â I had a feeling this might get ugly with Oregon State's passing game against Notre Dame's horrendous secondary but it's been special team's that have caused this lopsided score. This game is going to get uglier before it's over. Â And then Oregon State forgets to play defense on 3rd down an entire drive, with a ticky tack pass interference call throw in, and Notre Dame gives themselves some hope going into the half.
iggymcfly Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Oh, I could have told you that ND would get beaten pretty solidly before the game. OSU was quite a bit better to begin with, and teams almost always play shitty in their bowl game after losing a coach. Â When the players have to hold a vote to see if they'll go to the bowl game, it's usually a sign that they won't be too well-motivated. Â By, the way, here's the interesting statistic of the day. ND has lost their last seven bowl games, dating all the way back to 1994. I had no idea it was that bad until I watched the broadcast tonight.
Bored Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 Today's Games  Houston Bowl: Colorado vs. UTEP  Alamo Bowl: #24 Oklahoma State vs. #25 Ohio State  Tune into the Alamo Bowl to see if either school can still field a team with all the suspensions.
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Go OSU....errr.......Oklahoma State and Colorado! Make the Big XII 3-0. Â Does anyone think Colorado can win this? Was that OU game an indication of how good they actually are?
nogoodnick Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I thoroughly enjoyed watching ND get their shit kicked by OSU. I just dont see their program returning to a BCS game in the next 4 years. I hope Ty Willingham and UW kick their asses next season.
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 The Orange Bowl fever pitch is starting to hit over on ESPN.com. They have a tale of the tape between the two teams that has some very interesting stats and includes some things I didn't know. Then it just has some funny little stats that mean nothing. It's a funny read.
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 God dammit Colorado win this fucking game! Represent the Big XII. Because you sure did a good job of it in the title game!
Secret Agent Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 What the hell are you talking about, Dama? Is the Houston Bowlon already or something?
Damaramu Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 What the hell are you talking about, Dama? Is the Houston Bowlon already or something? Yeah it's at halftime with UTEP leading 21-13.
Damaramu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Colorado could win this game if there coach wasn't braindead.

It's a funny read. Your violating your probation Dama. Get over it. I wasn't trying to open discussion. I was just pointing everyone to a funny read. Especially the part comparing players that have been arrested. Â Anyways the officials in the Houston Bowl are terrible. They're not calling a lot of obvious penalites on both teams. Â Colorado finally takes the lead.
Damaramu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Oh that was a fucking catch! God these officials are the worst I've ever seen.
Damaramu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 The Big XII is now 2-0 on bowl games. Which is already better than what they did last season.
Damaramu Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Ok State starts the game off gay with an interception and then a defensive snafu allowing Zwick to throw a TD pass. Come on this was one of the most inept offenses in the NCAA at one time! Put the hurt on them OSU.....er.....OK State!
