Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted December 18, 2004 You guys have been helpful in the past, but my team was doing really well until just recently. I got hurt by Eli starting and somehow Tiki became forgotten (except for rare occasions and the right setting, starting a rookie QB is not the best idea, especially with the team in the playoff hunt) and Tom Caughlin proving he is not a good head coach. Favre has been throwing to Driver more and Walker's production has gone down. So I have some good players to choose from, but unsure of who I should start. Any insight would be great. I am for sure starting Dante, Gates, TO, Buf Def, and Longwell for sure. I however am not sure for the remaining players. I can start 2 WR and 2 RB and 1 WR/RB... but who should get the remaining slots? Tiki - I don't think he goes until Warner is playing full game, man now I know why the Jags never won under Caughlin with all that talent, he really does suck. I bet the Giants are thinking Fassel was not so bad afterall. But he has gone from first half MVP and for sure start, to benching because Eli was not ready, but got thrown to the wolves and Tiki production is way down. Plus, he goes against the second best run D in Pitt. Droughns - He has a great matchup against a real bad Def in KC, but last week he got pulled and that got me about 3 points. And I am not sure if Bell is going to play, which takes me too... T. Bell - I managed to pick him up, but he got hurt. If he was healthy, I might play him, as he is finally showing that he might have the skillz, or Denver's O-line is really good. However, I can't get a confirm if he is sitting this week, or if he will play. Jimmy Smith - good matchup against a weak secondary, but it is supposed to snow, meaning a healthy dose of run, run, run. Javon Walker - production has gone down, but still has a TD in something like 6\ out of the 7 last games played. Is at home and I think last week was an abnomally, but Favre seems that Driver is his favorite target. So I have WR who up till this week, was a for sure start, but now I am a lil unsure. Emmitt Smith - the Rams suck a D., and I think Emmitt might put up solid numbers with a score, but the Cardnals might be airing it out to play catchup. I think I might pass, but who knows since Smith plays good against the Rams. Marshall Faulk- my brother got frustrated with him and let him go and I picked him up to keep others from grabbing him. He is starting, so he is healthy and has great numbers against the Cards. The Cards could either rebound from losing to my Niners (who suck) or they might tailspin more. Lee Evans - is really hot right now, benefitting from Moulds double teams. Cinci is prone to big plays and Bledsoe likes throwing him the ball. But, it is predicted that the Bills to play are the D and McGinnist, as the weather indicates Run, Run, Run... I have Eric Johnson, but I have Gates, so Gates is my man at TE. So this is my team, please help me out. I would hate to be the second #1 seed to lose to a # 8 for second strait year. Thank you.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2004 Here's the five I would start: Tiki Barber Emmitt Smith Lee Evans Javon Walker Jimmy Smith At this point in the fantasy season, you want to bank on guys that have consistent playing time and your other options don't necessarily have that. Faulk's been named the official starter for this week but Steven Jackson's also coming back, which means he'll go back to sharing carries like earlier in the year. Plus, it's the Rams. Tatum Bell looks like he'll actually play but, if he does, he'll be splitting carries with Reuben Droughns, the other player you listed. Given that Bell will likely be a gametime decision, it's better to just forego both of them, even with the killer matchup against KC.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2004 First off, I have to say that I don't expect any of these guys to really help you. If your big 3 have great games, you'll win. Anything you get from these other guys will be gravy. But since you asked... Well, Tiki and Droughns are obvious as your RBs. RBs are an afterthought in Martzland, so Faulk is a start only if one of the other two are injured. At WR I'd probably start Smith and Walker with Evans at the flex. Smith is THE primary receiver for Jax, and with Favre at home Walker is probably a good bet to get around 6 catches and maybe a TD. Evans is Buffalo's go long guy, so really you're rolling the dice with him, but I think he's a better choice over Emmitt Smith (since the QB fiasco has fucked up the entire team), Johnson (because Dorsey forgets that he exists) or Faulk (again, forgotten). 88s all around for you...
