KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 Week 3 last year, I believe. I think Rush Limbaugh's comment about McNabb that got him kicked off NFL Countdown came the very next week.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 Also don't forget Philadelphia last year, and pretty much the last 3 years, had been riding on the strength of their defense rather than their offense, and they had no running or receiving threat, so Donovan was fucked whether he was in the game or not. I wouldn't call last year riding on the defense, as the run defense was atrocious and the pass defense had lost a step. 2002 was definitley a great defensive year for the Eagles. Week 3 last year, I believe. I think Rush Limbaugh's comment about McNabb that got him kicked off NFL Countdown came the very next week. That Eagles/Pats game last year was in Week 2, after the Eagles opened up the new stadium by getting demolished by Tampa Bay. I think the Limbaugh controversy was during Week 4 because I remember being at the Week 5 game against the Redskins and that was the huge topic.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 Are you sure it was Week 2? I thought the Pats lost their first 2 games last year and then went on the streak.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 Nah, as I'm checking pro-football-reference.com now, New England lost to Buffalo in Week 1 then to Washington in Week 4 before starting the streak. It also says the win over the Eagles was in Week 2.
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 Reports here seem to indicate Ben's just bruised, and if next week meant anything he'd play. Since it doesn't, he probably won't. He should be fine for the playoffs. By the way, any Bills fans expecting to play the Pittsburgh JV team next week keep in mind that Hines and Bettis are both close to 1,000 yard seasons and will probably play long enough to achieve those, and the backup QB is still Tommy Maddox. As far as the hit that put Ben out, I really didn't think it was cheap. Worthy of a roughing call yeah, but I don't think it was uncalled-for cheap. Besides, the Ravens D had to have something to crow about since the Steelers O-line made them their collective bitch. Nothing made me happier than seeing loudmouth Ray Lewis get knocked 5 yards backward on every play. If the Steelers were at 100% going into Buffalo this week, they'd still lose. There is no way the Bills aren't winning this game. No way. LOL. That's what teams have been saying for the last, oh, 13 weeks. I'm just going to assume that you haven't been watching the Bills the last 9 weeks.

That is weird though because I remember thinking the numbers on the streak didn't add up if they'd only lost the first two.
