MrRant 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 The AFC part yeah. I had two windows open and didn't feel like typing out Jax/Bal/Den
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I'm definitely going to watch 3 of the 4 games (No interest in the Colts game), and it's cool that two of the four are between divisional rivals (Seattle/St. Louis and Minnesota/Green Bay)
MrRant 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I'll watch them all since I'll be a work. *hugs TV on his desk*
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 3, 2005 It will officially be the Broncos in Indi. I can't recall a time a team beat another team in the final week to make it into the playoffs, only to have to go to the opposing team's homefield the following week for said playoff game. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I absolutely despise Denver and Indy, so I have no interest, as I said before. Here's hoping the winner of that game gets killed by Pitt/NE the next round...

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I guess that doesn't exactly count then... Anyways, my predictions: Seattle over St. Louis New York Jets over San Diego Indianapolis over Denver Green Bay over Minnesota

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Seattle will finally wake up and beat St. Louis, going 3-0 in the nfl over a team is hard. San Diego over New York. Indy will walk over Denver. Minnesota over Green Bay. see Seatle/Louis. Maybe it's me but this group of Wild-carders is just loaded with boredom. Pittsburgh faces San Diego...Pittsburgh takes that Indy will "upset" NE. Pittsburgh shuts down Indy. Minnesota "upsets" Atlanta Philly squeaks past Seattle Minnesota falls short against Philly. Philly loses to Pittsburgh 27-13. Bettis is MVP with 119 yards, 21 carries and 2 TDs.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Minnesota "upsets" Atlanta Philly squeaks past Seattle Minnesota goes to Philly if they win since they're the lowest seed in the NFC I believe.
Guest Rrrsh Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I am far more intrigued with the NFC this week. Jets blow on the road, and Indy are monsters under the dome. But 2 divisional Rivals in the NFC, plus there both very well matched. Not to mention, Atlanta and Philly are hardly "heavy favorites" so there are good chances that an upset can happen in the second round. I say Indy, San Diego, Green Bay and St Louis. Overall, Green Bay over Philly in Confrence game and Pats over Steelers Pats repeat.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 So the Rams feasted on their piss-poor division while going 3-7 against everyone else? Pathetic. I move that the Bills be temporarily moved to the NFC for the playoffs. In the AFC, I'll go with Indy moving on to Foxboro, while the Chargers go to Pittsburgh, which would be one HELL of a weekend for football. In the NFC, the Rams and Seahawks play to a 2-2 tie after 20 OTs, giving the Eagles a bye into the title game, while The Packers go to Atlanta.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 OK, there's no way the Vikings or Seahawks win next week. They've both tried as hard as they could to blow their playoff berths for the last month and a half, and now that they made it, they're not going to stay any longer than they have to. Meanwhile, GB and St. Louis will both be overmatched on the road in the divisional round, and Atlanta and Philly will make it to the NFC Championship. I think the Jets can actually pull off the upset in San Diego the way their defense has been playing, especially given how young the Chargers are. Meanwhile, Denver stands no chance in the RCA dome where Indy should run up 40 or 50. Of course on the road, Peyton and Co. are unlikely to fare any better against New England than they did last year, and the Jets already showed they aren't good enough to win in Pittsburgh. That leaves us with Atlanta/Philadelphia and New England/Pittsburgh. With the TO injury, Philly's gonna start buying into the hype again for the NFC Championship, and McNabb will likely throw 3 or 4 picks in the loss. Meanwhile, I think New England still has another gear that they haven't shown all year. They were Super Bowl champs before Corey Dillon, and I think that when it's all on the line, they'll find a way to beat Pittsburgh. Of course, Atlanta vs. New England should be one of the most lopsided Super Bowls since the Bills/Cowboys days but what can you do. It'll look good for Vick just to be there this early in his career, and the Patriots will be the first back-to-back champs of the parity era.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I think the Jets can actually pull off the upset in San Diego the way their defense has been playing, especially given how young the Chargers are. For that to happen, Pennington HAS to privilege us with a real good performance. If not, Martin needs to have a monster game, and SD has a really stingy run defense (89 yards a game they average, I believe).
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 God help us all if Atlanta makes the Super Bowl. All of ESPN will be fighting over who gets to give Michael Vick a verbal blowjob. And if it ends up being Colts/Falcons, ugh.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I really think now; we're going to get a "Whaaa" superbowl meeting between two teams that arent Philly/NE/Pitts. Like Atlanta Vs New York Jets. I still however will say NE/Philly. However; every team looks boring for SB Hype week.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 And if it ends up being Colts/Falcons, ugh. Peyton and Vick in a 69. Minnesota has a tough game at one of the worst road playoff sites against their biggest rival, and present little reason to have faith in them after whimpering their way through the last half of the season. If Minnesota pulls this one off, I don't care what happens in the next game, I can at least get something from the season. If they lose yet again, I want to hear about Tice's unemployment in the near future, recent extension be damned.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Question... Of All 12 playoff teams; which team's QB is the most important and most needed Culpeppper-Vikings Favre-Packers Hasselbeck-Seahawks Bulger-Rams McNabb-Eagles Vick-Falcons Brees-Chargers Plummer-Broncos Pennington-Jets Manning-Colts Brady-Patriots Rothleisberger-Steelers Most would make the arguement it's Manning, Vick, Favre and McNabb. what about you?
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 McNabb definitley. Watch Koy Detmer try to play QB if you don't believe me.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 You HAVE to add Brady to that list. Rohan Davey in the playoffs? *shudder* I'd say Culpepper too, since Minny's running game isn't that hot.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Michael Vick as well. If Vick goes down, its the Matt Schaub or Ty Detmer Show in Atlanta.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 3, 2005 The thing about New England is, they can run Dillion and rely on a strong defense. So losing Brady would suck but not as bad as losing Manning or favre or vick would be for their teams.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 Really, they all are very important to their respective teams. Quarterback is still the most important position in football, since the whole offense revolves around him and he gets every play started (well, the center actually does that, but you know what I mean).
