Guest Smues Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Just say White Noise. Was not impressed at all. Two hours of Michael Keaton staring at TV static. Not very exciting or scary. The others in attendance weren't too happy either, I can't see this movie doing too well. Oh, and the eyes on the "YOU ARE MEDDELING!" girl looked like they were going to fall out of her sockets. That was about the only creepy thing in the movie. Ok so help me out, what happened at the end? The guy who had been at the bottom of the elevator shaft earlier talks to the dead with the white noise, and they tell him to kill people? Huh? I think, THINK is the key word, he killed Keaton's wife. Ok fine. But what about the baby in the car? He couldn't have had anything to do with that. And who was it telling Keaton where to go, was it actually his wife? I can't imagine she'd send him to his death, and the physic creepy eyeball lady had said that it wasn't his wife talking to him. What the hell was going on? And what the hell was up with the 3 spirits. They can do stuff at 2:30? Any dead can do something at 2:30? I just don't get it. And why did that one girl whose name escapes me jumps off the balcony. The spirits possess her or something? Last question, damn this movie was confusing, what the hell happened at the very end? We see shadows, which I'm guessing was those three spirit things ago, the girl looks to the left, her right I guess, a loud sound is played, and the movie ends. Huh? Guest Evolution Report post Posted January 8, 2005 The trailer and promotion was well done, but I figured that the movie in itself would be trash. I will also be waiting for a rental on this one.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2005 There is a reason January is the dumping ground for Hollywood. I mean come on, last year TORQUE was unleashed on us. January is the month of movies that had great premises but the writer/director just either didn't agree or weren't smart enough to make a good movie.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted January 9, 2005 And who was it telling Keaton where to go, was it actually his wife? I can't imagine she'd send him to his death I actually took that as she was telling him to "Go!" as in to stop meddling with the machines and to move on, while the three spirits were interfering with the transmission and saying "Willow Avenue" in order to lure him to them. I assumed that's why there appeared to be a change in the voice. But yeah, wait at least until rental. I didn't hate it, but wished I'd spent my $8.50 elsewhere. That makes sense, but I don't get why the 'evil' spirits would send him to willow avenue. He saved a life, why would they want that?

I guess to lead him on so that he'd be easier to lure into a situation where they could have some fun with him and kill him?

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Ok so help me out, what happened at the end? The 3 Presences are still after Sarah and were probably about to somehow kill her in the cemetary since she is the last one who "knows" about the EVP stuff and the truth. Its kinda like the Ring, whoever gets involved winds up getting killed by the evil spirit(s). The guy who had been at the bottom of the elevator shaft earlier talks to the dead with the white noise, and they tell him to kill people? Huh? Yes. He was helping them do their dirty work. I think to either A.) Save his own skin from being killed by the Presences (for meddling initially with the EVP) by killing people for them. or B.) Johnathan is trying to help people and ignoring the bad messages, but what about the people (The Work Man) who listen to the bad messages? With good always comes a little bit of evil as well. Either way, he was a serial killer inspired by their subtle influence and became their tool to perform the physical chain of events leading to their needs. I think, THINK is the key word, he killed Keaton's wife. Ok fine. He did. But what about the baby in the car? He couldn't have had anything to do with that. She dropped him off at his mom's place before The Work Man somehow got to her. And who was it telling Keaton where to go, was it actually his wife? Yes. I can't imagine she'd send him to his death Jonathan starts to piece together that Anna is contacting him and showing him things about all these people before they actually die, thus giving him an opportunity to save them. and the physic creepy eyeball lady had said that it wasn't his wife talking to him. I kind of missed that part because I was also distracted by her creepiness, but what I got is that she was referring that the Presences were also talking to him and not just his wife. What the hell was going on? And what the hell was up with the 3 spirits. The 3 Presences were extremely vicious and sadistic people when they were alive. When they died, they remained in an area that would provide them with prime fresh candidates (to torture, manipulate, control, and basically amuse themselves with) of those who ‘cross over’. Living so in an In-Between state, they have the freedom to continue their savage and abusive acts freely – their victims almost like trapped prisoners while having a human puppet to help out. They can do stuff at 2:30? Any dead can do something at 2:30? Unless I missed it, they never explained the deal with 2:30, but I believe its the exact moment when Anna had died (2:30 AM) anyway because she either always got into contact with Johnathan or something would always happen around that time. I just don't get it. And why did that one girl whose name escapes me jumps off the balcony. The spirits possess her or something? The Presences were trying to kill Sarah like they did wind up doing at the end of the movie with Johnathan. It was much easier for them with Sarah because she was drugged and he was not plus he also had a strong mind. Last question, damn this movie was confusing, what the hell happened at the very end? We see shadows, which I'm guessing was those three spirit things ago, the girl looks to the left, her right I guess, a loud sound is played, and the movie ends. Huh? The Presences are still around. I'm pretty sure she was a goner right then and there or she will be soon. Johnathan is trying to get in contact with his ex-wife and his son. The lesson learned was being stuck in your grieving feelings is self destructive. The end result might be that you will get cut off from the loved ones that are still living (Example: Jonathan not taking care of his son anymore) He says "I'm sorry, Mikey" through the radio. I'm really hoping that when the DVD comes out, there will be deleted scenes or the commentary that will help explain the movie a lot better because I do feel everything was rushed.
