Guest bushwickray Report post Posted January 12, 2005 If Owen Hart hadn't died what do you think would've happened? Personally I think Owen would've been the Blue Blazer for a few more monhs then gone back to himself. I also think Bret Hart would've won the title from Nash on the Tonight show and he would've stayed on top for a few more months. I od'nt think he would've had a concussion as i think Hulk Hogan would've stopped his push in late 99 and had the big match with Goldberg at Mayhem or Starrcade 99. When Russo left for WCW and took Jarett with him I think Owen would've followed. Owen would've probably had some high-profile matches with Sting and then along with Bret and Lance Storm would've lead Team Canada for the last remaining months. Or Owen would've stayed in the WWF reunited his tag team with the Bulldog and been tag champs for a few months delyaing the Dudleyz push, had a few feuds with Benoit and Jericho throughout 2000 and in 2001 would've helped get Bret Hart back into the WWF when the Invasion started. That's where I think history would really differ as Vince would've used Bret as the leader of WCW and based the whole invasion off of the real heat from Montreal. At King of the Ring a returning Bret probably would've caused Austin to lose the title to Jericho and the main event of Invasion or Summerslam that year would've been Bret hart vs. Steve Austin and Wrstlemania 18 probably would've been something like Bret Hart vs. Vince MCMahon. The Invasion probably would've been a huge sucess and they would've sucessfully incorporating everyone else. Nowadays I could see Owen as a top-tier guy on Smackdown probably in a feud with Booker T or something. JBL would still be champ though. Wrestlemania 19 probably would've headlined with Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle and Wrestlemania 20 probably would've been HBK vs. Bret Hart and Triple H taking on Chris Benoit in the main event. Who knows? Where do you guys thinkwe'd be if owen was still around
Richard 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Wasn't he planning to retire as soon as he got enough $. Maybe his mind would be changed with Jericho, Bulldog & co coming in.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 haven't we discussed this before? I really don't think he would have broke past the IC title ranks...he didn't have what Bret Hart had...hell his only decent fued was AGAINST Bret...

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Retired. It was well documented he was retiring by the end of 1999.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 you guys aren't answering the question posed in the by-line of the thread title ... he asks were we'd be, not just where Owen would be. I can only answer for myself: nl5 would still be at work, like he is now. Probably online, reading TSM instead of finishing his account profiles.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 12, 2005 OK, that's an even lamer question. I would've buried myself with Owen because I couldn't live without him. Oh sorry, I'm just mocking this.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Bret was retired by 2001 and had major health problems stemming from his concussions. Owen wasn't going to "recruit" him to lead the Invasion

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 12, 2005 If anything happily retired in Calgary working occasionally @ the house following his father's footsteps. Likely a part time columist for a local calgarian paper. Maybe as a agent since he loved being with the boys.
Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Retired. It was well documented he was retiring by the end of 1999. That was never set in stone and there are lots of wrestlers who say they're going to retire soon. (like Booker T) He'd probablybeen slotted with the Radicals, had a bunch of good matches and if he were still active today, be mid-upper mid carder. -Paul Jacobi-
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 13, 2005 He saved a lot of the money he made throughout his career so he could retire early and spend time at home with his family. I think that could qualify as set in stone, but you're right, anyone can change their mind at any given time.
