Ripper 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 The thing is, in a 3 reciever set, they can't all be double covered. I understand that he recievers down field were covered and all, but throw the fucking ball up. you have pro-bowl recievers against a fucking WIDE RECIEVER and you are throwing the short routes where the strength of the Pats D (linebackers) could eat them alive. I mean, sometimes you have to take that Dante Culpepper approach. Even if the guy is covered, fuck it, just put it to him anyway. Great game by the Pats, DUMB game plan by the colts. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 17, 2005 The thing is, in a 3 reciever set, they can't all be double covered. Sure they can. There's 11 players on the defense, you would need 6 players to double team every receiver in a 3 WR-set, although that would leave a TE or a RB in the flat exposed since you'd only have 5 players left for a pass rush and to cover the short outs/flats. I mean, sometimes you have to take that Dante Culpepper approach. Even if the guy is covered, fuck it, just put it to him anyway. That sounds more like the Brett Favre approach.. The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 I think Brett Favre could have used a little Peyton Manning, and Peyton Manning could have used a little Brett Favre in their playoff losses.
