Guest sek69 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 I got this the other day and it really brought me back to the days I started watching wrestling. It's mainly matches from the beginnings of the Freebirds feud, which I think was one of the best in wrestling history. Here's the match list: Freebirds vs. David & Kevin Von Erich/Iceman Parsons (World 6-Man Tag Title Match -- 1983) Kevin Von Erich vs. Chris Adams (Cotton Bowl - 10/84) Kevin Von Erich vs. Chris Adams (Reunion Arena rematch -- Thanksgiving 1984) Kerry Von Erich vs. Terry Gordy (1984) Kerry Von Erich vs. Gino Hernandez (1984) Freebirds vs. Kerry/Kevin/David Von Erich (World 6-Man Tag Title Match -- 1983) Kerry Von Erich vs. Michael Hayes (1983) kind of sad that the only people still alive are Kevin, Michael Hayes, Iceman Parsons, and Buddy Roberts (and he's battled cancer as of late). According to Kevin, this is first in a series, which I hope they stick with because World Class really was one of the most innovative feds of the 80s. Guest Hass of Pain Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Where did you find this? I would kill to get my hands on a copy, World Class was incredible and I have such fond memories of coming home every day and catching it on ESPN. I would especially love to see that Kerry/Gino match.

I would especially love to see that Kerry/Gino match. You can order it from Amazon.com, deepdiscountdvd.com (they're the cheapest, I think), and so forth. Haven't seen it recently in a store anywhere, though it seems I saw it when it first came out at an FYE down in Atlanta. Just do a search of "Best of the Von Erichs" from VCI Entertainment, I think. You can also order it directly from VCI by going to vcientertainment.com. I got it when it came out, and it's great. Some matches don't have the original commentary, but Kevin Von Erich and David Manning fill in with some good alternate commentary. I think some of the tapes owned by Kevin are missing some commentary, so it may be an issue on future releases as well. They say at the end that there are future releases being planned, so I hope it's a good seller! If this one didn't sell for shit, then we may not get any more. Guest sek69 Report post Posted January 19, 2005 It really brought home how Fritz was ahead of the game when it came to pro wrestling on TV. I'm pretty sure World Class was doing the "announcer doing a news-style angle recap" even before the WWF did.
