strummer 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2005 Notes from Rajah, taken from the Torch: -Batista was very outspoken about OVW in the past and it almost caused him to loose his job several years ago, sources say. He wanted more of a speaking role to practice on that area and that was not given to him and he also had a bad rep in OVW for thinking he was too good to go through the workouts in OVW at one point. While his criticisms may have been valid, many feel he would have been better suited not speaking out so much against OVW. -There are grumblings in the back that the WWE Divas may be credited with the recent surge in ratings. The Smackdown Divas have had no problems co-existing with the male wrestlers, while the Raw Divas have had a more difficult time fitting in backstage. Stephanie McMahon has been working with the Divas on their pre-taped segments and most of them are only signed on a week to week basis with no long term contracts. -WWE has released the finalized poster for WWE No Way Out which is somewhat different than the previous advertisments that had been released for the event. The poster still shows JBL climging over the top of a steel cage with barb wire wrapped around the top, but also gives us a glimpse as to what the barb-wired steel cage may indeed end up looking like. The Preview for the even reads as follows: Conflict has a new battleground in the first ever barbed wire steel cage match. There’s no place to run. There’s no way out. SmackDown presents WWE’s No Way Out, Sunday, February 20th, live at 8pmET/5pmPT.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2005 Conflict has a new battleground in the first ever barbed wire steel cage match. There’s no place to run. There’s no way out. SmackDown presents WWE’s No Way Out, Sunday, February 20th, live at 8pmET/5pmPT. Remember when they said that for HIAC? While nobody really "got out" of HIAC I or II (the door was ripped off and they started on top, respectively) it seemed for a while that they always found some odd way of getting outside to do something. I believe Foley went through it one time and Vince ripped the door off the six man HIAC, leading to the Chokefall from Rikishi. Unless they REALLY play up the "you can't get out, they can't get in" thing and have JBL's Staff trying in vain for a good ten minutes and don't succeed...i'll be pissed. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't either a) distract Show or b) hit the side of the cage with a chair as his head is against it to help JBL win. Also there are probably big chances for a huge fall to be taken, and seeing the Big Show do it would be better and less predictable than JBL taking a big chokeslam or something. Oh, and lots of blood, too. A look of sheer shock on a bloody JBL's face as Show falls from, say, the top rope to the canvas and bounces would be awesome. But so help me, if that match ends with someone actually climbing over top of the barb wire to the floor I'm going to go INSANE.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2005 Are they talking about the Diva Search divas? Because the ones on Raw, other than Maria for a good, hearty laugh, are utterly useless. At least Joy and Amy have roles.

While his criticisms may have been valid, many feel he would have been better suited not speaking out so much against OVW. He was a demon in OVW, so I can sympathize with his complaints. Seriously, if you could be an unspeaking demon or a pimp who destroys everyone, I'd be a little more happy about the latter.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2005 I highly doubt there will be a big fall in the Cage match. WWE have gone more and more away from the big bumps in Cage matches, HIAC matches, etc, so that people don't expect them in every one. That is a plus, because if the people are conditioned to expect a big bump in every variant of a Cage match, then nothing is going to get heat until the big bump, because the fans won't believe the match will end before the bump. And no way should Big Show ever take the bump, even if some people think it might be cool. Such a move would be beyond stupid.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2005 Maybe JBL will actually Shudder win the match clean. It hasn't seemed to affect him so far since he's at the HIGHEST POINT OF HIS CAREER.
