Guest cdstunner66 Report post Posted May 14, 2002 My list would be, 1. Hendrix 2. SRV 3. Mustaine 4. Vai 5. Hammet An interesting thing about Yngwie, I once read an article about him, this was I think around 89, where he made maybe the most pretentious statement ever. He claimed, and I paraphrase here, that the only guitar player that even compares to his level of talent was Jimi. Have you seen pictures of this guy lately? He looks like he ate his amps. He's huge. Guest pochorenella Report post Posted May 14, 2002 I have to say my favorite has to be Eddie Van Halen. There's definitely a before/after with this guy. But I also think he stopped blossoming after the Unlawful Carnal... album. He was no longer as creative. I could make an argument about how great and underrated I think Ace Frehley was, but I'm the biggest Kiss fan so I'm biased. Randy Rhoads (RIP) and Jake E. Lee were also great. Goes to show that Ozzy can really choose his guitarists, huh? Back in the Hair metal days I used to go ga-ga over George Lynch's playing, but I haven't heard anything new from him in a while. I know he's back with Dokken, though. I also agree that Jimmy Paige is a bit overrated, but I still love Led Zeppelin.
