Lawyer Milloy and NFL Moneyball

Recommended Posts

Is that not a true statement? The only payment a Super Bowl ring gets you is if you pawn it, an act that will certainly merit its share of displeasure. The statement is literally true.

Except he clearly didn't mean it in a literal sense, rendering the point you just made irrelevant.

What Milloy's point is clearly that he thinks the whole team concept New England has is b.s. and that they're holding themselves back from gaining a big payday in sacrifice for staying loyal to a franchise they're happy with. As I said, it's a selfish, immature, primadonna attitude prevalent in sports today and is really hurting the quality and integrity of the professional leagues we follow.

Actually, Milloy is bitter that he got cut and then was replaced by a converted CB that has gone on to play every bit as well, if not better, than he has.

Rodney Harrison plays Milloy's position, not Eugene Wilson. Eugene Wilson replaced Tebucky Jones essentially.

I know that, Mascot, I just wanted to take what Czech said and take it one step further.

Having said that, though, I really think that Milloy expected there to be a huge dropoff in the secondary once he left, and the fact that there really hasn't been one must be pissing him off something fierce.

Tebucky would just be there playing special teams and three safety sets, so his still being on the team wouldn't have a real great affect(not to mention his still being here would mean a couple other players wouldn't be since the Pats got draft picks for him).

If Milloy was still here though the team would be absolute monsters against the run. He wasn't a great cover safety but if he ever drops his grudge and says "Ya know, I'd like to go back to the team that drafted me and I had success with. I'd rather end my career happy then being overpaid to lose." then I'd love to see him back. He was a favorite of mine...I always wanted one of those posters of him and Ty Law together that said "The Law Firm".

Still, it would move Eugene Wilson back to corner which would allow Milloy and Harrison to just kill people that wandered near the middle of the field.
