I wouldn't have been too surprised to have seen him test the waters, but not a bad decision.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Remind me what it means to franchise a player again.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 If a franchise tag gets put on a player, then another team can sign the player to an offer sheet. The Eagles would have 7 days to match the opposing team's offer, and if they do not, then they get 2 first round draft picks as compensation. If no team signs the player to an offer sheet, then he will get paid a one-year contract according to the top 5 salaries at his position(Simon would get about $5 million.)
