PWG Presents "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" on March 12, 2005!

By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer

Shasta State Historical Monument, California - When former Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Commissioner Paul T. resigned just prior to "All Nude Revue," it left a power vacuum in offices of PWG, a vacuum filled in the interim by Disco Machine and his Oreck XL. While there hasn't been an official announcement as to who will ultimately take over the role of Commissioner, due to the success of the "Disco Machine Showcase" matches, we're content to let Disco have the job for a little while, especially if it means he'll shut up. With that being said, "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial," taking place on Saturday, March 12, will be the first PWG event ever in the history of PWG and the world that consists entirely of "Disco Machine Showcase Matches." It's a first, you know.

In order to create the best show possible, many factors were taken into consideration by interim commissioner Disco Machine, including win-loss record, height, weight, length, hometown, what match the fans told him they wanted to see the most, etc. Thanks to all of that hard work, "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial," taking place on March 12, 2005 at Frank & Son Collectible Show, with a new 2:00PM Start Time, will feature:

PWG Championship Match

Super Dragon © vs. Tony Stradlin

PWG Tag Team Championship Match

Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Frankie Kazarian & x

Number One Contenders Match

Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles

Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre)

And most recently added to the card, one half of the Havana Pitbulls, Ricky Reyes, thanks in part to his huge win over Roderick Strong at "All Nude Revue," will take on the debuting Chris Sabin! Sabin, a two time former X-Division Championship holder, is looking to expand his professional wrestling resumé, and a victory over Ricky Reyes would go right near the top, possibly in between the first and second X-Division title victories. Maybe even right at the top! Be there on Saturday, March 12 so you can find out first hand what Chris Sabin's secretary will be doing on Monday morning!

Plus The Ballard Brothers, Excalibur, Hook Bomberry, Human Tornado, Ronin, and Top Gun Talwar will also be appearing! Plus, the in-ring return of interim PWG Commissioner Disco Machine!

Also, for fans looking to catch up on their Pro Wrestling Guerrilla DVD collection, we're proud to announce that "Use Your Illusion 4," "Free Admission (Just Kidding,)" "Uncanny X-Mas," and "Card Subject To Change" will be released by Monday, March 7! All four of the brand new DVD's will be available at "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial," but fans who can't wait till then can go to www.ProWrestlingGuerrilla.com right now and pre-order their own copy of all four shows!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" takes place at Frank & Son Collectible Show on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 2:00PM. Frank & Son Collectible Show is located at 19649 E. San Jose Ave., City of Industry, CA 91748. Tickets are only $15 each, and will be available at the door. Damn..... that is the greatest event name ever! No, I'm not affraid to admit that I am a huge Ernest mark. That guy was a comedic god.... a GOD I say!

Double dog damn, that's very good looking card there. 4-way should be awesome, SD-Stradlin should be interesting, Somehow I get the idea Kazarian's partner is Joey Ryan (which would be huge) AXP Vs. Los Luchas is always top notch. And Chris Sabin is a little out of the blue... but hey it's always good to see new faces in PWG.

Triple dog damn, 4 new dvds! Wow, well.... there goes $60 bucks right here. As those 4 shows just maybe PWG's best work to date. Also gotta agree on the love for the new covers, especially the UnCanny X-mas.... the number on the issue is 21... and that happened to be PWG's 21st show! GENIUS! A CROPDUSTING GENIUS~! Nice stuff.....

can't wait for this one.....

Here's a preview I wrote on the PWG Board:

It's hard to believe the show is a week a way and there's not that much hype for it! I doubt that would be much of a problem since the last show didn't seem to get much hype till the week before the show and drew a standing room only crowd at F&S, so hopefully history will repeat itself!

Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre)-These two teams have wrestled eachother twice before at Frank And Sons(AWS in October of 2003 and Rev Pro in December of 2002). I have only had the chance to catch the Rev Pro match from 2002 when both teams where starting out and it was a really fun, fast paced match. Now that both teams have improved so much since then and this match could be one of the better matches of this show. I see the AXP getting the win and getting a shot at SL/CB one last time at All Star Weekend and finally winning the PWG Tag Titles after a year of trying.

Chris Sabin vs. Ricky Reyes-Ricky has been having tons of good matches lately in PWG with him and Rocky Romero against the AXP in January and defeating the debuting Roderick Strong last month. This is one of the most interesting match ups on the show. I've seen Chris Sabin wrestle many times and haven't seen him get "stiff" in the ring with his offense and mostly see spotfests from him. I'm not too big on the Sabin hype but this seems like the match that could change my mind about him. I see Ricky getting the win over Sabin.

Number One Contenders Match: Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles-This is the match that I and almost everyone else is looking forward to. All 4 men are extremely worthy of getting a shot at the PWG Title and it's a shame that only one is going to get it. The most popular choice here seems to be AJ Styles(duh) getting the win. Either way, this match has MOTY written all over it(Fuck what over opinionated smarks say!). Honestly, I really want to see El Generico win this match. He's one of the most over wrestlers in PWG(And SoCal for that matter). Kevin Steen would also make a worthy contender and if Super Dragon won the match it could be one of the stiffest matches to take place in indy wrestling. Daniels would be a good choice but seeing as there's a strong chance SD is going to win it would really have me wondering if these two could have a great match(Their MLW match wasn't that good and from what I've heard their APW match wasn't that appealing to many people). My prediction is going to be AJ taking this going up against Dragon at ASW, but I'll be rooting for El Generico!

PWG Tag Team Championship Match: Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Frankie Kazarian & x-This match has me wondering. PWG surprises never disapoint the fans. In the past we've seen mystery guys like CM Punk, Christopher Daniels, Steve Corino(bad example huh), Deranged and Lit(See: Corino) and Teddy Hart all making surprise appearences in the past PWG shows so we could probably see a huge name as Frankie's partner. But at the same time everyone shouldn't set their expectations high as ROH and CZW are running shows also next week. Either way, this match should be loads of fun. I see Arrogance getting the win here.

PWG Championship Match: Super Dragon © vs. Tony Stradlin-Tony Stradlin has really proven that he could have great matches with everyone he faces and has been on a winning streak gaining victories over Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, and Frankie Kazarian. On the other hand Super Dragon hasn't been pinned in a singles contest since August 30th, 2003(Against Joey Ryan in the BAM 3000) and hasn't lost a singles conest since August 14th, 2004 against Samoa Joe when he lost via count out and has held singles wins over M-Dogg 20, Hook Bomberry, Colt Cabana, Joey Ryan, Scorpio Sky, CM Punk, Chris Hero, Frankie Kazarian, Jonny Storm, Homicide and Samoa Joe. The odds are in Dragon's favor and I see him taking the win in this match going up against AJ Styles at ASW. This match should be louds of fun and there's still the element of surprise to be considered as most people didn't think Dragon would get the win over Frankie Kazarian when he won the title. Plus there's still the mystery of the Fake Super Dragon going around getting involved in SD's matches.

Overall: This card has "Show Of The Year" written all over it. The way PWG has been building up it's storylines and matches leading up to All Star Weekend this could be the show where a lot of shakeups go down. Plus we still have the Disco Machine/Excalibur drama going on and The Ballard Brothers, The Human Tornado, Hook Bomberry, Ronin and Topgun Talwar without matches. And the DVDs! You can't forget about the new DVDs finally being released!

Updated Info For PWG's "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" on March 12!

By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer

Lick, California - We here at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) pride ourselves on our honesty with our fans, which is why it pains us to announce that the number one contender for the PWG Championship, Tony Stradlin, has been kidnapped and is being held for a quite sizable ransom by a Connecticut-based Terrorist Cell. Thanks in part to PWG's long standing policy of not negotiating with terrorists, and as well as our inability to meet the Terrorist's financial demands, we have been forced to make some changes to "The Ernest P. Worrel Memorial" taking place at Frank & Son Collectible Show on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 2:00PM! Why, that's less than one week away! Anyway, what are the changes, you may be asking? Well read on to find out!

While we wish Mr. Stradlin all the luck in his future endeavors, and truly wish that he doesn't get beheaded or meet some other unfortunate end, the show must go on here at PWG, and Interim Commissioner Disco Machine has taken the bull of misfortune by the horns, wrestled it to the ground, and somehow turned it in the butterfly of opportunity for one lucky man! That's right, the winner of the Four Way Number One Contenders Match between "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, El Generico, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen, and The Phenomenal AJ Styles won't have to wait till April for their title shot, and will face Super Dragon for the PWG Championship later that night! Upping the ante further, the Four Way match has been changed from Elimination Rules to First Fall rules, meaning that there will be no alliances, no team work, and that all four men will be putting it all on the line for a shot at Super Dragon later in the evening!

"The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" takes place on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Frank & Son Collectible Show, with a 2:00PM Start Time, and will feature:

PWG Championship Match

Super Dragon © vs. Winner Of The Number 1 Contender's Match

PWG Tag Team Championship Match

Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Frankie Kazarian & x

Ricky Reyes vs. Chris Sabin

Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre)

Number One Contenders Match

Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles

Plus The Ballard Brothers, Excalibur, Hook Bomberry, Human Tornado, Ronin, and Top Gun Talwar will also be appearing! Plus, the in-ring return of interim PWG Commissioner Disco Machine!

And unfortunately, we have some further bad news to report: We heard from our DVD Replicator late last week that our order could only be partially fulfilled, with "Use Your Illusion 4" arriving on time, but the remaining 3 DVD's would require an additional two weeks. We apologize for the delay, and hope our fans can understand that this situation is equally frustrating for us, considering we placed the order almost a month in advance, with what we thought would be more than enough time to have our entire order in time for March 12. To help cope with this bad news, we have prepared a joke to ease the pain: So a ham sandwich walks into a bar and asks for a drink, and the bartender says "Hey Buddy, we don't serve food here."

YES ANOTHER (UNOFFICIAL) PWG PREVIEW!

Now some of you may be asking, “By golly, who is Ernest P. Worrell? Some foreign dignitary? That Kid Michael Jackson molested? One of the Little Rascals perhaps? That Little Rascal Michael Jackson molested by chance?â€

No silly! =) Ernest P. Worrell was a character played by the late Jim Varney. Ernest started off in local TV ads in Nashville area during the late 70’s and quickly rose to become a cinematic icon in the mid to late 80’s. In total the much beloved Ernest character starred in nine movies, One Saturday morning children’s show and more than 4,000 TV commercials! (Including several for Cerritos Auto Square here in So Cal!)

But sadly, due to years of heavy smoking, Jim Varney developed lung cancer and tragically passed away on Feb. 10, 2000 at the tender age of 50.

But the genius of Varney’s immortal “know it all†Ernest character lives on! As on March 12th 2005 PWG will present the “Ernest P. Worrell Memorial†at The Frank and Sons Collectable showcase with a 2 PM Bell time! (Why so early? Well… because the night belongs to lovers I’d suspect)

Let’s run down the matches!

Ernest Goes to School

Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre)

previously on "As the Guerrilla turns": At "All Nude Revue" The AXP came up short in their second attempt at capturing the PWG Tag team titles, as Arrogance’s sly craftiness once again enabled them to escape with the titles as they used the ropes for leverage to steal one from The AXP. The anger of being cheated out of the titles once again, caused Scorpio Sky to explode (Yes, literally explode!) as he attacked Referee Hercules Hernandez, and vented his anger by throwing chairs into the ring.

Now via this defeat the Aerial Express find themselves once again at a crossroads. On March 12th at PWG’s “Ernest P. Worrell Memorial in order to move back into tag title contention, they must first get past the formitable team of Los Luchas!

Past history? : 12-22-02 in Revolution Pro, 6-28-03 in AWS (as part of a 3-way with The X-Foundation) and 10-25-03 in AWS. As well as numerous other meetings, including Quicksilver/Chris Bosh Vs. Los Luchas in the first Round of PWG’s Tango and Cash, and a couple of amazing Quicksilver Vs. Phoenix Star matches in Rev Pro.

PWG Records: Quicksilver is 9-9, and Sky is 8-8, 5-3 as a duo, Phoenix Star is 2-4 and Zokre 1-5, 0-2 as a duo

My Thoughts: First let me say, it’s great to have Los Luchas back in PWG. And they’ve been really making up for lost time, in January they had a really exciting match with Arrogance at “Card Subject to change†and last show, they were apart of the probably best PWG multi-man tag in some time. I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way, but Los Luchas are without a doubt THE perfect opening match team. They never fail to get the crowd buzzing with their high-flying expertise and arm draggy craziness.

As for the AXP, I’d say you’d be hard pressed to find a more cohesive unit in wrestling than The AXP. As I’ve said before, I can’t really remember an AXP match that I didn’t really enjoy.

Speaking of the AXP, there has been a noticeable difference in the attitudes of Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver lately. With Scorpio Sky usually being super serious and intense, while Quicksilver w/manager Dino Winwood have been going for laughs. Which makes me wonder if a split isn’t forthcoming with the AXP. Sky’s recent temper tantrum at “All Revue†could be the start of a whole new "serious" character for him.

As for the match itself… while I haven’t personally seen any of their previous tag team meetings (I’ve been meaning to buy that Best of AWS 2003 DVD) but from all published and unpublished reports, they’ve all been outstanding bouts. And knowing the style of both teams, it’s not hard at all to see all the potential this match up has. These 4 always work extremely well together (I especially liked Quicksilver’s singles matches with Phoenix Star)

So, Win, Lose or Draw (or whatever other 80's game show starring Burt Reynolds you want to mention) this should make for a very exciting match up and is my pick for the sleeper match of the show.

My Prediction: Los Luchas, after The AXP have a falling out.

Ernest rides again

Chris Sabin Vs. Ricky Reyes

Last time: At “All Nude Revue†Ricky Reyes scored a major victory over the debuting Roderick Strong. In order to build off that victory, this time Reyes will to face a newcomer to PWG, Chris Sabin.

Sabin, an accomplished wrestler, hailing from the fighting city of Detroit, Michigan, has really made a name for himself in the NWA-TNA promotion. Just some of his accomplishments in that promotion include winning their X Division title 2 times, as well as winning their Super X Tournament (where he defeated Jerry Lynn, Frankie Kazarian and Juvintud Guerrera in one night) Other career notables include: impressing in such promotions as 3PW, IWA: MS (where he appeared in the 2003 and 2004 TPI tournaments) BCW, IWC (where he won the 2004 Super Indy Tournament defeating Glenn Spectre, CM Punk and Alex Shelley) appeared in the 2003 ECWA Super 8 tournament, was named the 2003 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Rookie of the year, as well as being one of 5 million pro wrestlers in the world named "Chris" (quite a resume eh?)

If Ricky Reyes can defeat the well-traveled Sabin, it’ll be quite the feather in his fashionable and stereotypically Cuban, straw hat. But if Sabin can walk into PWG and defeat a competitor like Reyes, he’d have to be considered for immediate title contention.

PWG Records: Ricky Reyes is 8-3 overall, 3-2 as a single; Sabin will be making his PWG debut.

My thoughts: As I've covered in past previews, Ricky Reyes is quite an underrated singles worker. Perhaps he’s not as flashy, or as rocky or as Romeroey as his partner, Rocky Romero… but I think a lot of his past singles work more than speaks for itself (especially his match with Roderick Strong last show) he’s always delivered as a single in PWG.

Now, I’ll admit I haven’t really seen THAT much of Chris Sabin’s work. Probably less than 10 matches total, and several of those matches were most or less {GASP} “spot fests†but still fun.

It'll be interesting to see how these two will match up. A Cuban and a guy from Detroit? Throw in a break dancing sass mouthed Robot and you've got yourself a hit sit-com! That was PWG's intention with this right? A hit sitcom?

My Prediction: Ricky Reyes.

â€Hey Vern, It's My Family Album!â€

PWG Tag Team Championship Match

Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Frankie Kazarian & X

Family Matters: The Life and times of the PWG's “First Family†Since day one in PWG, Frankie Kazarian had been a perennial fan favorite, kissing babies signing autographs, helping old ladies cross the street, slapping hands, giving fans tips and tricks for beating Piston Honda on “Mike Tyson’s Punch-out†helping them with their adjustable mortgage rates… you know… just being an overall swell guy.

But Frankie’s sparkling relationship with the fans all changed on July 10th 2004 at PWG's "Reason for the Season

Where after a memorable “Loser leaves town†cage match, Frankie Kazarian finally vanquished his archrival Adam Pearce. However he was outraged to find that the fans had started cheering the efforts of Adam Pearce! (A man who had caused Kazarian such hardship in the past) Taking the fans' cheers for Pearce as disrespect for him. Frankie decided if the fans didn't respect him... he wouldn't respect them. He then proceeded to attack the fallen Pearce until being ran off by his assumed allies, Babi Slymm and C. EBAY Vanderpyle.

The next month at PWG’s “Secret of the ooze†Frankie’s attitude had totally changed. Gone was the beloved “King of hip†in his place was a smug asshole, who looked like that evil dad from Kindergarten Cop.

Later that night, 1# Contender Colt Cabana took Kazarian to his limit. Nearly coming away with the all the bananas… if not for Cabana's manager Mr. Vanderpyle "mistakenly" tripping him up, giving Frankie the opening to plant "The Wave of the Future" and win the match. Then from out of nowhere (or actually an unspecified suburb somewhere East of nowhere) Brad “Bad†Bradley and “Big†Babi Slymm hit the ring and attacked Cabana! Soon after Frankie and Vanderpyle joined in on the assault! It had been a set up all along! The new faction stood in triumph, and then proclaimed themselves "The First Family" of PWG. And belittled the fans for overlooking and under-appreciating them. Now as a unit, they could no longer be taken lightly. …

The Family’s wave of chaos continued at PWG’s “The Next Show†As Bradley and Slymm defeated Human Tornado and Supa Badd, and Kazarian escaped with his PWG title after a match with Samoa Joe.

But the First Family’s night wasn’t over just yet…

In the evening’s main event, it appeared as if we would finally see the culmination of The X-Foundation saga. As Joey Ryan and Scott Lost met in a Ladder match to determine, sole possesion of the PWG Tag titles. After a brutally brutish presentation of brutylicious brutality (Don King would be proud of that one) Joey Ryan had seemingly won the match after he decimated Lost with a... umm "modified" Duff Drop off the ladder. The bloodied and battered, Ryan, showed the heart of a true champion, as he courageously fought back to his feet and scaled the ladder and captured the gold. However, the referee had been incapacitated earlier in the bout and didn't witness Ryan's victory. Then shockingly "The First Family" ran out and attacked Ryan, and presented Scott Lost with the belts. When the ref awoke, he saw Scott with the titles and awarded him the match and the tag titles. With Scott Lost now on board, the First Family held all the power and controlled all the gold in PWG. It appeared that nothing could stop the First Family…

Or so it may have seemed at the time, but in no time at all, the once strong union had began to slowly unravel, as by PWG’s next event, Vanderpyle had gone AWOL and left the promotion, and Brad Bradley was out in definitely with an injury.

Undaunted the remaining members would have to carry on. The first order of business was for Scott Lost to name his new championship partner. It seemed a forgone conclusion he would select one of his stable mates…. But instead he went outside the family and selected Chris Bosh, much to the displeasure of Kazarian and Slymm who were responsible for Lost having the belts in the first place.

A few weeks later at “Use Your Illusion 4†The PWG Tag Team Champions, Scott Lost and Chris Bosh (newly dubbed "Arrogance") were given all they could handle by The Aerial Express. During the contest Babi Slymm came to ring side, and an altercation ensued. During which Slymm ended up taking out Bosh with a spear! Causing a DQ, saving the tag titles but creating mammoth dissention among the First Family. Was Slymm feeling the effects of dreaded green monster gomblor… err jealousy after being passed up as Lost's new partner in favor of Bosh? Arrogance then layed out a challenge to Slymm and a partner of his choosing for a match, next month. However… the match never came to be, as soon after Babi Slymm had disappeared from the promotion.

The last remnants of the First Family’s stronghold came crashing in at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding) when Kazarian was dethroned as PWG Champion by Super Dragon. And the “First Family†much like Richie’s brother Chuck Cunningham on Happy Days seemed like a distant memory.

After his title loss Frankie Kazarian went into PWG seclusion, while Chris Bosh/Scott Lost quickly became the most successful tag team champions in PWG’s history.

Flash forward to PWG’s “Card Subject to change†where Arrogance with new manager Valentina were victorious over the returning Los Luchas. Then after the match… “You're the Best†by Joe Esposito hits and Frankie Kazarian made an unscheduled return to PWG. He immediately took exception to Arrogance’s new association with Valentina (the former manager of Kazarian’s arch rival Adam Pearce) After questioning the virtues of Valentina and questioning where Bosh’s rash came from. Kazarian asked them to make a choice… to go with with him or stick with her and catch some social disease) After a bit of deliberation Arrogance appear to side with Kazarian… Bros before hoes! But then Valentina sneaked up from behind and low blowed Frankie! Twas a trap it twas! Then Arrogance layed their former leader out with a pair of Stone Cold Stunners! The First Family was now…. dead…. deader than Elvis on a toilet, heck deader than two Elvis’ on two toilets...

The next month at “All Nude Revue†Frankie Kazarian wasted no time and opened the show by calling out Arrogance, only to be cut off by Tony Stradlin, who came out to settle another old score with Kazarian. But during their match… Arrogance made their presence felt, which left Kazarian open for Stradlin’s ROLL UP OF DEATH… costing Frankie the match up.

Soon after PWG announced that on March 12th 2005 Kazarian would get his chance at revenge as he and a partner of his choosing would meet Arrogance for the PWG tag titles!

However in the interim, Frankie Kazarian’s career has taken a major turn, as he’s agreed to a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, and will soon be leaving PWG. Giving this match more importance than ever, as this maybe Kazarian’s only chance to destroy the monster he’s created, and finally win back his fans by taking out Arrogance once and for all!

Past History? : Frankie Kazarian and Scott Lost met in the 1st Round of PWG’s Bad Ass Mother 3000.

PWG Records: Scott Lost is 15-8 overall, Chris Bosh is 10-9, 5-0 as a duo, Frankie Kazarian is 15-6-1, I don’t know much about this “X†guy… he seems to no show a lot.

My Thoughts: The real question with this one isn’t the match quality (I think that’s a given here… I mean come on! These guys RULE DOOD) It’s the possible identity of Kazarian’s tag partner.

So let’s run down some possible suspects! Each more suspect than the last!

Slymm, Babi

Motive: Still has unfinished issues with Arrogance dating back to UYI4. So he would fit perfectly into the storyline

Chances? : I don’t know. I’m just a simple sandwich man but somehow I have a feeling outside issues just may be preventing him from returning to PWG. Perhaps he’s too busy “keeping it gangsta†which I heard is a full job time for most. So yeah… much like “Deuce Bigelow 2: European Gigolo†I don’t plan on seeing it…

Shane, Michael J.(or whatever he’s called now)

Motive: Kazarian’s former tag partner in NWA-TNA.

Chances? : It’s possible I suppose… though that wouldn’t excite me very much. I think Mr. Excitement would be much more exciting.

Ryan, Joseph.

Motive: Still has major unfinished business with Scott Lost, he owes him 20 bucks or something.

Chances? : I personally think in my heart of my hearts that it’ll be him. I mean his return would surely be a PWG moment to remember. Only question is he recovered enough from his injury to possibly make a return?

Mercury, Chuck:

Chances? : None really, I just have to mention Chuck Mercury in every preview by federal law.

Pearce, “Scrap Daddy†Adam: This has been suggested on several message boards. And well it would be highly interesting to see him return to PWG somehow. I really just don’t see it, wouldn’t make sense from a lot of standpoints… I mean he was the catalyst for the First Family angle. So much like “Deuce Big… oh yeah… already used that one… So umm yeah like Samoa Joe, I would count him out…

Frantz, Jardi

Chances: NO! PWG better not use Frantz as a surprise ever again! I mean it… If they do I’ll hold my breath until I turn blue or possibly aqua marine. Nothing against Jardi... just him as the surprise at Rocktobestfest was a huge letdown. They should have switched him and Corino around... oh well late now....... or is it?

{Insert Random CZW/ROH worker name here}

Chances? Seeing as CZW and ROH both have shows this day (and in ROH’s case… EVERY FREAKING WEEKEND) I’d say this is highly unlikely. As ROH is more addictive than crack or even Tetris for wrestlers I’ve heard.

So yeah… I’m clueless as anyone. Just have to wait to see who PWG throws at us here.

My Prediction The champs retain (Really, I don’t see any PWG title changes until they get belts again… be very anti-climatic to have someone win a title… without actually getting a belt… or a fancy trophy or at least a gift certificate to Arby’s.)

Slam Dunk Ernest

Number One Contenders Match

Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles

Last Time: Kevin Steen’s PWG losing streak continued, as he was defeated at the hands of Christopher Daniels in a singles match. Growing increasing frustrated at his lack of success in PWG, Steen set out to redeem himself as he challenged the two men who’ve previously defeated him in PWG, Christopher Daniels and El Generico to a 3-way dance at PWG’s next event.

However, Acting PWG commissioner Disco Machine interjected… and not only granted Steen his match… but shocked the world by adding “The PHENOMENAL†AJ STYLES to the fray! Then further upped the ante by announcing the winner of the match would be the #1 contender for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla championship!

Now due to recent events, the stakes have gotten even higher, as the winner of the match will now get their shot at Super Dragon’s PWG title later that afternoon, and the opportunity of walking into PWG’s biggest shows to date holding the gold!

PWG Records: AJ Styles is 2-1 overall, Christopher Daniels is 6-6 overall and 5-3 in singles matches, El Generico is 1-2, 1-1 as a single, Kevin Steen is 0-3 overall, 0-2 in singles matches.

Past History? : Styles and Generico met as part of 3-way (with Crazy Crusher) in EWR Daniels and Steen have met in 3 matches (one of which Kevin Steen teamed with AJ Styles... small world eh?) As for El Generico-Kevin Steen and AJ Styles-Chris Daniels… They’ve never met ANYWHERE EVER!

My Thoughts: Wow, where to begin… Well, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels without a doubt the others’ signature opponent. Matching them up has become a reliable stand-by whenever an Indy is looking to put on a great a match. Their track record together speaks for itself, from TNA, ROH, IWA: MS, 3PW, JAPW, IWC, PWG, NWA: Wild side, ABCDEFGW ETC. when these two are matched up in any fashion you always get a high quality match.

El Generico and Kevin Steen are just about reaching the level of AJ-Daniels recently. As they’ve been matched up in numerous promotions and have fully impressed every time. Including an excellent match at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding) which endeared them to the hard to please SoCal crowds (something BJ Whitmer couldn’t even do, AND HE’S BJ “BY GOD†WHITMER!)

As far as experience in three or four way dances, I’d say you couldn’t have four better participants. Kevin Steen/El Generico of course made their name in the United States in an action packed 4-way in CZW, AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels have also been involved in many top notch 3 and 4 way dances. Including an incredible 3-way at PWG’s "ARE YOU ADEQUATELY PREPARED TO ROCK" with Frankie Kazarian.

Steen has worked well with Christopher Daniels in the past, AJ Styles looked good in there with El Generico in EWR, and I’m sure Steen and Styles will match up well…

So with all that in mind… really it doesn't take an avid viewer of "Law & Order" to decipher that this is going to be a special match. Just sit back grab some Frank and Son’s brand chicken and enjoy…

My Prediction: Tough prediction, under the original rules I’d have said AJ Styles was a lock to win this one… but with the changes I’d have to say I favor Kevin Steen to win this one.

PWG Championship Match

Super Dragon © vs. Winner Of The Number 1 Contender's Match

Last Time: Super Dragon got long awaited revenge on Samoa Joe by defeating him via count out.

Past History? : Two singles matches with Christopher Daniels in APW and MLW, faced Steen and El Generico in a tag match in CZW, Met AJ Styles as part of a 4-way match in IWA:MS in 2002.

PWG Record: Super Dragon is a funktastic 22-6 overall, 14-2 as a single

My Thoughts on possible Super Dragon challengers:

Christopher Daniels: Ok, I can’t talk about SD-Daniels until I address proverbial “turd in the punch bowl†That being the two less than stellar matches they had in the past. (Warning rant coming up…)That morons on a certainty snooty promotion’s message board full of morons like to bring up ad-nauseum, as proof of Super Dragon’s "lack of skill". Ugh Just face it, MLW sucked plain and simple. Never judge anyone based on MLW work. So those morons on that moron board should just take the moron train back to moron town with the rest of the morons (Wow sorry about the angry Dr. Pepper fueled tangent there)

ANYWAY, I’m not sure if PWG will go with this match up due do the negative reputation of their previous match ups. But in a way, I hope they do go with it. As hopefully they will finally erase the memory of their previous matches with the one of the high level performances they are usually known for here... and thus prove all the pork eating demon people’s claims erroneous!

Chance? : Low, but you never know! Heck, you could wake up dead tomorrow…

Kevin Steen: For me the most memorable moment of CZW’s Cage of Death 6 show was the incredible exchange between Super Dragon and Kevin Steen. Where they traded stiff shots with vicious intensity… with neither man getting the better of the other. Clearly a singles match up between the one would be quite the spectacle. But due to scheduling conflicts/lousy booking/termites/the move “Dante’s Peak†or whatever, CZW has never able to follow up on this sure fire “money match†This is PWG's chance to get the jump on everyother promotion by being the one to host this epic match up.

If this one ends up taking place on Saturday, buckle up your seat belts (if applicable... I know I'll be bringing my seat belt) because we’ll be in for a hell of ride.

Chance? : High, with the change in the match up. Kevin Steen is now my favorite to face Dragon.

El Generico: After seeing Generico get thrashed by SD like a freshman during “hell week†at CZW’s Cage of Death 6. Got me thinking of all the potential a SD Vs. Generico match would have. Generico fits the “Super Dragon opponent†mold to a t. I really think it could be comparable to one of the classic Super Dragon Vs. TARO matches; a lot of the same dynamics are present. As like TARO was, El Generico is incredibly loved by the SoCal crowd and pulls off the gutsy underdog role as well as anyone could. If Generico survives the 4-way and goes into the match with Dragon wounded… they could produce a dramatic masterpiece on par with Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aïdaâ€! (I hope no one gets that reference) This could be just the beginning of what could be an unforgettable series of matches (well unless you have Alzheimer’s or something… then you’d probably forget them I guess)

Update: In fact they are already set for a PWG title match in Germany on March 19th... as Mel Allen would say "How bout' that?"

Chance? : Medium, good chance… but seems unlikely right now.

AJ Styles: This is of course the major dream match of the bunch. The Biggest star in SoCal… meeting arguably the biggest Indy star in North America. Really only a matter of time before this one ends up taking place (the perfect main event for “All Star Weekend†actually) but will they go with it so soon? It’s very possible; maybe have Super Dragon get the better of an injured AJ Styles. Then have Styles win another shot at “ASW Night 1†and then do it up proper at “ASW Night 2†A lot to consider there… but if they do go with it. Will it be good? Shit, Negro, you know how they do! Course it will!

Chance? : The Beatles..... err High.

My Prediction: Super Dragon retains and walks into All Star Weekend with the title

Also set to appear:

The Ballard Brothers! (8-5 as a team) Excalibur! (7-10) Hook Bomberry... Hook Hook.... Bomberry! (2-6) The Human Tornado! (2-6) Top Gun Talwar! (6-9) and Ronin (2-2) starring Robert DeNiro and Jean Reno!

PLUS the in-ring return of interim PWG Commissioner Disco Machine! (6-11)

AND WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE COULD APPEAR! Maybe that guy from Cheers! (YES NORM!)

FINAL THOUGHTS: Now you may be asking "Hey guy that doesn’t exist, why is this show so important?" Why elementary! My Dear Watson! (Or whatever your name happens to be… I’m assuming its Watson)

You see this will be a pivotal event in the future development of PWG! You have to believe it will mark the beginning of several new exciting story lines and set the tone going into the ultra mega huge All Star Weekend… Plus I just think it'll be a kick ass show!

Look at all it has to offer: A huge 4-way featuring the SoCal return of AJ Styles, with the winner moving on to a huge World Title dream match that night!, The big tag title grudge match, who will Frankie’s partner be? (It could be Annette!) Which minority group will Bosh offend this time? Those lousy Dutch perhaps? What will happen when Excalibur comes face to face with the man who suspended him, Disco Machine? Will Scorpio Sky have another violent outburst? Will the 2nd Super Dragon make his presence felt? Who knows what surprises could PWG have up its sleeve on the eve of their biggest weekend of shows yet!

It's really a can't miss show in many ways… so don’t miss it… or I’ll send hired goons after you… I’m freaking serious! I’ve done it before….

Until next time this is Saul Blueberry saying: "So it's come to this. A pointless, miserable end to a shallow, meaningless life. But it's as it should be. It's the hand I've been dealt, and I have to play it as it lays. Oh, I'm not going to cry because life's thrown me a curve. I'm not going to whine because I got mashed potatoes when French fries is what I really wanted. It's time for me to step up to the plate, belly up to the bar! It's time for me to look fate square in the eye, flare my nostrils, breathe life's last breath! It's time for me to lie down with lions so I can soar with the eagles! All right! I'm ready! Come and get me! Let's do it!â€

PWG continues to have the most bizarre, random, and hilarious show names. I love the gimmick of labelling every match with an Ernest movie.

My grandma's old house can be seen in Ernest Scared Stupid. That's pretty much all I got to add here.
