FWA NEW FRONTIERS - THE FULL RUNDOWN

The FWA returns with its first live show of 2005 on Saturday, February 26 2005....it's a new year, it's a new beginning, it's FWA New Frontiers!

The show at Broxbourne Civc Hall, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, will be filmed for The Wrestling Channel and features several marquee matchups, headlined by the first FWA British Heavyweight Title defence on home soil by the 'Showstealer' Alex Shane as he takes on his number one contender 'The Wonderkid' Jonny Storm.

Storm earned the shot by winning the recent Gold Rush Battle Royal just days after being officially reinstated into the FWA.  Shane of course won the title from 'The Anarchist' Doug Williams at British Uprising 3 on the same night Jonny was signed back to an official FWA contract.  Shane and Storm are two of the most controverisial, charismatic, outspoken and biggest names in UK wrestling yet they have never met on such a big stage with so much at stake.  With Shane's bitter enemy the mammoth German Ulf Herman banned from the building, Shane should be free to concentrate on this historic match, a potential spine-tingling showdown and an intriguing clash of styles. Alex has managed to convince the FWA to make this match a sudden-death best of one fall so expect both men to lay everything on the line to become the number one man in British wrestling today.

'The Phoenix' Jody Fleisch will address the crowd and make a very special announcement.  The former FWA British Heavyweight Champion and one of the most popular and mythical figures in UK wrestling today made a brief return to the ring at British Uprising 3 but has been officially retired for over 18 months.  What will The Phoenix have to say on February 26? Be at New Frontiers to find out!

'The South City Thrilla' Hade Vansen will put his All-England Title on the line against his top challenger Spud. Vansen is seething at the 140lb Pocket Dynamo from Birmingham, not only because Spud eliminated him embarrassingly from the Gold Rush Battle Royal but also because unlike his opponent, Hade has been thus far overlooked for a spot on the prestigious TWC Supershow in March. Bitterness and resentment may spill over into violence when 'The Lady Killer' goes one on one with one of British wrestling's most electrifying young talents.

The Zebra Kid makes his return to the ring to battle American indie sensation Chris Hero. Zebra hopes to put his personal problems in 2004 behind him by proving his worth to his father Ricky Knight, who will watch this match from the audience.  The hard-hitting East Anglian will have no tougher adversary than CZW, IWA-Mid South and ROH favourite Hero, raised in the intense wrestling gyms of Philadelphia and well-versed in strong style grappling.  Ranked Number 41 in the recent Power Slam 50, Hero is making his FWA debut and Zebra will need to shake off the ring rust and be at the top of his game to survive.

James Tighe and Mark 'Five Star' Belton will team up to battle Aviv Maayan and Ross Jordan. This is a clash of the submission specialists versus the high-flyers, of technical expertise versus aerial wizardry.  Tighe has vowed to make Aviv Maayan tap; he is totally obsessed with this aim.  But can the flyweight duo take advantage of this obsession to cause an upset?

FWA New Frontiers will be the venue for a unique and fan-interactive concept in pro wrestling; The FWA Open Door Invitational. Some of the brightest prospects in UK wrestling today will enter the Broxbourne ring - only the fans will decide who gets to wrestle on television and who goes home!  The contestants are ‘Superstar’ Tony Sefton, Heresy, Max Voltage, ‘The Golden Boy’ Cameron Knite, Carbon, Jack Storm, ‘The Raging Bull’ TJ Cain, Johnny Phere, JC Thunder, Jamie Idol and Dragon Phoenix. Who gets to wrestle?  You decide!

FWA Tag Team Champions Hampton Court will fight a non-title tune-up match against FWA debutants, from Manchester, Declan O'Connor and Joey Hayes.  The Duke of Danger and Simmons, accompanied by their saucily gorgeous maid Buttercup, have asked for this non-title match against the youngsters to ease Simmons back into FWA competition after recent serious illness. But the Mancunian duo of O'Connor and Hayes may have other ideas about being treated as just a warm-up.

Jack Xavier will meet Leroy Kincade in a Final Eliminator for the FWA All-England Title.  Jack has had it tough recently, failing in his attempts to wrest the All-England belt from Hade Vansen and suffering a violent backstage attack from a mystery assailant at Gold Rush, from which he has only just recovered.  This could be his last chance to gain a shot at the belt and if he comes through a last-minute fitness check, his opponent will be the handsome, muscular and extremely talented member of Alex Shane's Personal Security, Leroy Kincade.  Kincade is on a hot streak but will Xavier's vaunted never-say-die attitude be too much for him?

Stevie Lynn will make his FWA main show debut against 'The Specialist' Mark Sloan.  This is a classic battle of youth versus experience. The high-flying Lynn will battle the odds as he takes on the FWA's Head Trainer, who as always will be accompanied by Stevie Knight and the EntouRAGE.

Dirk Feelgood will make his FWA main show debut.  This colourful and cocky character's double life as a doctor and a wrestler has earned him mainstream attention recently from The Sunday People and Richard and Judy.  But exactly what will his role be at New Frontiers?

ALSO JUST ANNOUNCED - The FWA will inform fans at New Frontiers the name of the American independent star who will appear at FWA Crunch on Saturday April 16 at Broxbourne.
