One of the supertapes had a great Rick Rude vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper MSG cage match. Rude bladed pretty good. Also, one of the early coliseum videos had a cage match with Andre vs. Studd, where Andre uses the cage to climb up to the top rope and hits Studd with an "earthquake" splash off the top rope. its worth seeing..

I wish they didn't wear themselves out during the 1st 2 falls.

 

5. Ric Flair vs. Harley Race(NWA World Title)(Starrcade 83')

Shitty reffering aside this is a damn good wrestling match.

 

4. Rock -n- Roll Express vs. The Andersons(NWA World Tag Team Titles)

A good tag team match with a cage that was used to perferection. Plus GREAT heel work by the Andersons(just listen to the crowd).

 

3. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit(RAW)

Just awe-inspiring.

 

2. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart(WWF Championship)(Summerslam 94')

Good wrestling, with an ode to Flair and the Andersons attack on Dusty.

 

1. Magnum TA vs. Tully Blanchard(NWA US Title)(Starrcade 85': The Gathering)

You'd think they were battling for the World Title the way these 2 beat the shit out of eachother. One of the most gruesome endings ever.

 

Honorable mentions: Hogan/Bossman, AMW/XXX 1, AMW/Naturals.

I think Bret vs Owen, Summerslam 94, is one of my favourite matches of all time. I'm more of a "hardcore, high flying, spot fest, flashy" fan, but that is one technical match that I can repeatedly watch and enjoy.

Benoit vs. Angle is one of my favorites ever, some of the bumps they took were just too damn crazy, i mean the moonsault from the top

I think Bret vs Owen, Summerslam 94, is one of my favourite matches of all time. I'm more of a "hardcore, high flying, spot fest, flashy" fan, but that is one technical match that I can repeatedly watch and enjoy.

What I remember most about that match, is Davey Boy Smith looking like Tarzan trying to get into the cage to help Brett.

Special mention goes to the overlooked Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels match (late 93, early 94) on some Coliseum Video. It was basically the template for the Bret/Owen match.

 

EDIT: I just saw an awesome, bloody ROH cage match between Samoa Joe (ROH Champ) and Jay Briscoe. Recommended for those who haven't seen it, with crazy bumps and a gory bladejob by Briscoe, an easy 1.0 Muta. My new #5 choice.
