Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Since purchasing MVP 2005, I've noticed that there's an occassional grinding noise (presumably where the disc is) that causes the game to freeze up for any given period of time, until the noise stops, the game resumes like normal and then the cycle repeats itself later on. It seemed to be getting worse and today, I noticed that it finally put a deep scratch into the game. Now it won't completely load when you go to play something in it. My girlfriend gave me this back in the fall and she had owned it since Christmas of '02, but rarely used it. Reading around, it sounds like there were issues with older models of the PS2, so perhaps this is connected. Anyway, any suggestions on what I should do? MVP 2005 is now worthless (and it's my second one) and the PS2 continues to have these issues. I'm considering buying both a PS2 and MVP 2005 and then doing the old switch-a-roo, and returning them, but if anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to shoot. Guest Undertow Report post Posted March 10, 2005 There might be a problem with the positioning of the wheel. The little white wheel determines at what angle the disc is at so the laser can read it properly. To fix this, you have unscrew all of the tiny screws on the bottom pf the PS2, from there you have find the wheel and adjust. Just don't lose the screw. I'm not entirely postivie about this being the problem, but it might save you $250 or $300, however much a PS2 costs these days. For more support, check the forums on Sony online.
