SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 HBK-ANGLE Angle is NOT overrated, the man IS a wrestling god. He can still drag anyone to a great match. HBK isn't the wrestling he used to be but he can still have great matches, so this match just might steal the night. Thats why Angles best matches were with people far more talented than him like Benoit, Austin, Guerrero, Mysterio etc. etc. Stick him in a match vs. random midcarder with minimum skills and the match would blow. Angle's had good matches also with Edge, Kane, and Shane McMahon, just off the top of my head. Brock Lesnar, the Undertaker, and John Cena also come to mind. Especially Cena, since those were TOTAL carry jobs by Angle.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 Everyone has their own pace in the ring. Angle vs HBK will no doubt be a good match, maybe one if not the best match on the card. The only thing really in question is how good the story will develop between the two. I probably wouldn't want to see it become some gimmicky match, just a straight wrestling match that might lead to a continuing feud. Though that would mean one would have to switch shows. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 11, 2005 My problem with Angle is he gets way too much credit for his in ring ability. He's good, but not in the league of some people I mentioned. Undertaker is not a bad wrestler, it's just he rarely chooses to go all out. Kane is... well he's not too bad (he's better than Snitsky ), but the John Cena one I won't argue. Complete carry jobs for him, but none of their matches were great or anything. I didn't really feel any of the Brock/Angle matches though. All of them just seemed awkward, so I can't judge them fairly on a good or bad scale.
edotherocket 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 As mentioned earlier as well, I can't help but think the ladder match will not amount to much since I have zero expectation of the winner actually being successful in their titleshot.
Guest Tjhe CyNick Report post Posted March 12, 2005 About Rey-Eddie, Maltzer metnioned something in his update today about a billboard at LAX advertising the Eddie-Rey match, but card is subject to change. With the Dudleys, I like that idea of bringing them back to lay out the Bashams and set up a match at Mania. The other idea I thought of would be to have like a 4 way tag title match say with Bashams vs Kenzo/Dupree vs Haas/Benjamin vs ???...say Jindrak and Luther make up and then have the Dudleys do a run in at Mania and put everyone thorugh tables. But its probably better to actually have them wrestlle on the show. Overall I think the card will be good, and it will come off as a very strong show, the problem I have, and I've had this problem for like 6 months (based on the rumoured card) is that there is very little to draw casual fans. Cena and Batista are hot right now, Angle-HBK has been set up well, but I dont either of their matches will draw the casual fans in large numbers. The biggest draw might very well be Austin in Piper's Pit, but will people pay $50 to see Austin cut a promo? I guess we'll see. I have a feeling this PPV is doing less than 700,000 buys, and maybe even less than 600K
