TheFranchise Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 Well, I'll not go too far into details, but if I was watching something a friend was doing, and I wanted to keep it for embarressing them at a later date, for example.. is there any way to do it?
Jobber of the Week Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 If you mean remote control, I don't know, but if you're at the computer the webcam is hooked up to then all you need is software like this If it's one of those "This web site takes a new picture of my room every 30 seconds" pages, you just right click and save as the pictures.
Downhome Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 I think he is asking if there is a way to record a webcam you are watching. Me thinks that TheFranchise has been talking a chick he knows into stripping on her cam, and he's wanting to record THAT.
yankovic fan Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 You can use an outside camera to record it. As far as software, I know of none. I've taken a few pictures with my cell phone's camera feature whenever a girl does something interesting, but nothing really worth writing home about. Get one of them DVD burning camcorders.
TheFranchise Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 Me thinks that TheFranchise has been talking a chick he knows into stripping on her cam, and he's wanting to record THAT. Yes, and no. Yes as in, it's my girlfriend that I'm watching. Not 100% sure how she'd feel about me taping for future references, though. And I didn't have to talk her into it, she wanted to do it for me But if anyone finds a way, please let me (and others obviously..) know edit: I posted this in here and not LSD for avoidance of your type of response anyway
TheFranchise Posted March 14, 2005 Author Report Posted March 14, 2005 While i'm on this, would it not be possible to record the whole screen? Like people do when recording games they're playing? *should have used that idea originally in the first post*
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 If that's the case you just hit the print screen key on your keyboard, then paste it into any image-editing software program and save. Duh. I don't know about how to record the video itself, though.
Downhome Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 You can thank me later: I did a simple Yahoo search for, *gasp*, ""record a webcam" and the second result listed was the following site: http://www.mess.be/msnmessengerfaq/idx/18/060/inews.htm From there, they list a link to this program: http://www.techsmith.com/download/camdl.asp Then you can go into LimeWire and search for Camtasia, and it'll bring up a zip file of the program, with the serial number. I've downloaded it to test the program, and it works. You put a little box around whatever you want to record that is on your computer screen. I've had no problems with it so far. Here is a test video I did of me typing on my screen. When you use Camtasia, it seems to save the video in AVI format. I've taken the small test video I made and turned it into this little GIF here so I can post in this thread to show you.
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Wait what did you use to make an .avi into an animated .gif? I've been looking for one of those for a while.
