Guest Jack Potts Report post Posted March 23, 2005 I wasn't able to go to the Raw house show at the Township here in Columbia. I wish I had, just to see the Benjamin/Hassan match. I think a good track to take for Benjamin would be to emphasize the "athlete" part of his character. Treat him like a pro athlete, and have him cut work/shoot promos with the tone of real sports interviews. Let him give understated (i.e. not yelling) promos after his matches where he discusses his match like a boxer dissecting his performance after a bout, or a baseball player giving an impromptu post-game interview in the locker room. You know real-sounding interviews where athletes aren't screaming about the next pay-per-view, but where they discuss strategy, execution, etc. Josh Matthews/Coach/Interchangeable Diva: Congratulations on your victory, Shelton? How did you feel about your match? Shelton: Thanks, (Insert Interviewer's name). Tomko's a solid competitor. My hat's off to him. I-uh-I knew Tyson would come in with the power moves early. He's a big guy, and you've got to respect that strength, y'know? But-uh-I knew the key was to set the pace of the match from the start... Top it off by showing him backstage studying matches like Peyton Manning studies game film.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 I'm surprised that JR hasn't used more football analogy's when talking about Benjamins athletic ability.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 I'm surprised that JR hasn't used more football analogy's when talking about Benjamins athletic ability. Benjamin did amateur wrestling and was a track star, but I don't recall hearing about any football background. Not that J.R. needs somebody to have one as an excuse for talking about football, of course.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 I don't know about no 6-man, but that dive he did in the tag match last night was indeed awesome. So, will we finally see the 450 at Wrestlemania? I doubt it, since it's basically Paul London's finishing move right now but any of those surprise moves he busts out now and then just make me like the guy more. Too bad none of my OVW tapes show Shelton doing the move, but I did get to see Brock's SSP. That was cool as hell.
