Guest Loss Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I missed RAW this week. What exactly did he say? Who all did he mention? I've been trying to figure this out for days, but no one has really come right out and repeated everything he said, even the recappers. So could someone transcribe it or tell me everyone who was mentioned and what he said about them? Thanks.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I don't think anyone is strong enough to type it all or able to sit through the entire thing. From memory, he came out, sat in a chair in the middle of the ring, and complained about Batista. He may have mentioned the Learning Tree, but I may be thinking of another promo. He talks about Batista making the wrong choice, knowing that he could have beaten JBL and Cena. He talks about Batista making the wrong choice for his opponent last week, because he beat Chris Benoit. Around this time, he starts leaning back in his chair and begins long silences. Around this time I stopped watching.
Guest Loss Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Okay, why are people on the Observer feedback page saying he mentioned Jericho?
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I guess the words "HHH" and "buries" just bring out that sort of knee jerk reaction. Unless he said something about the ladder match, because I think he started ripping on other 'Mania matches.

Guest Deadbolt Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Triple H comes out, takes a chair and sits in the middle of the ring. He says that it never ceases to amaze him how underappreciated he is for the sacrifices that he makes. He talks about what he had to do to make a future for this company. He did a lot to make Randy Orton and Dave Batista into stars. Along with Ric Flair, they formed Evolution, the greatest force ever in this business. He says that some would say that they were unstoppable. However, that was not true because it could be stopped, only by itself. It was stopped by the jealousy and greed of Orton and Batista. Orton was on top when he was in Evolution. He was the youngest heavyweight champion, but then he made a bad decision. He turned on Hunter. It has been eight months, and now Orton is groveling for the scraps of Wrestlemania. Orton is facing Taker at Mania only to make a name for himself. In Evolution, Randy groveled for nothing because he had a name and he was a star. The same can be said for Batista. Batista made the bad decision after the Royal Rumble when Batista turned on him. He could have made the right decision and could have beaten Bradshaw or Cena. He could even beat both of them in the same match. However, he made the wrong decision, and he will lose at Wrestlemania. Trips says that Batista is not good enough, and not even at his level. He says that Batista wasn’t even at Wrestlemania long enough to get a cup of coffee. He reminds us that he has won the title ten times and is the greatest wrestler alive today. Hunter says that everyone says that they are the greatest . . . the best . . . the icon. He mentions that people even call themselves a ‘Wrestling God’ and that is a joke. There is only one guy who is considered the best, and that his him. Hunter mentions that he faced the man Hunter ‘could not beat’, but that was until last week when Hunter beat Benoit. Hunter tells Dave that he is making some bad decisions. He tells Batista that to make the right decision, you have somebody face someone like Kane. Hunter says that the match between Batista and Kane is a lumberjack match. The lumberjacks will be picked by Hunter and anything goes. He says that Batista was like a brother to him, and Batista crushed Hunter’s heart when he turned on him. Hunter says that when you have a pet, you nurture it and groom it. When the animal turns around and bites your hands. Nothing will stop Hunter from finishing off Batista and putting the Animal down. Some Guy 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 My favorite part is when he says that Batista could beat both Cena and JBL at the same time but not HHH one on one. I love how he buries the SD! guys by making it clear that he would have no trouble beating a guy who could easily take out both of them. What a great company man. Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I STILL think the iwc over-reacted. He was doing a heel promo calling himself the greatest. The same act 99% of all heels done in the past. He didnt go "Chris Benoit is a short, ugly canadian loser"...he simply said "I couldn't beat him before but i did last week" while failing to mention he cheated in the process like all heels neglect to remember or mention. He said Orton turned on him, when in fact it was the other way around but the common fan should be able to understand that by going and winning the title was stabbing HHH in the back and thus randy "turned" on him. His character is that of a egomaniac who refuses to believe he can lose, one of the oldest heel points ever He did the "Im a better champion" routine in regards to JBL; something rather common place in the wrestling world. It's basically the 'net trying to hhh-hate. Has he done things to justify this hatred? yes but this was really just a standard put myself over cliche heel promo that we've seen hundred times over. The 'net over reacted rather harshly.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) Someone mentioned it in one of the other topics about this topic. The problem with this, and the burial people speak of, is that he's telling the truth. And the fans know he is. When Triple H says 'he can go to SD and beat JBL and Cena, the fans know he can' - that's all well and good, Batista being the number one face, he should be able to, but when he says 'you can beat them both, but not me' - the problem is, the fans believe it. edit: Also, there is a reputation he has about long and boring promos, and the fact that this time, he just talked and talked and SAT DOWN while he was doing it, probably set the so called 'hhhaters' off. The 'net over reacted rather harshly. I'll just repost what I said in the other thread about this: The problem with HHH burying people in promo's is that he does it by telling the truth about the weaknesses of whoever he's talking about. Heels shouldn't be telling the truth as it is, but they especially shouldn't be telling the truth about the various weaknesses of the rest of the roster. When a heel puts down someone, he shouldn't be doing it in a manner that can cause people to say, "You know, he's right about that." He should be saying it in a manner where people respond to it with, "You know, he's talking out of his ass." That was what was so bad about this one. He went through half the roster and highlighted their legitimate weaknesses. That's stupid, no matter who does it, but it's more stupid when a heel does it. Heels are never meant to say things that people can't refute, and they absolutely should not put down babyfaces in a manner that people can say he's bang on the money with. That is what Hunter did, and that is why it was a horrible promo and one he is rightfully getting criticised for.

thecitythesky 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 * i have no real qualms with HHH making the comment about Batista being able to beat both JBL and Cena in the same match or at the same time. considering that had Batista made the jump to smackdown after the rumble he would've he to have done just that. since he was facing a triple threat match that would've involved both men. you know... in the same match at the same time. and HHH was merely saying that Batista was foolish for not making the jump, since that task would've been something that he could do. as opposed to beating Hunter, which he can't do. in a way, he was pretty much saying that Batista has made his bed and now has to sleep in it. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 So he basically said what he's been saying for the past 2 months. "Best HHH promo ever"...hahahahaha. It's not 2000.

Guest Loss Report post Posted March 25, 2005 If the past few years hadn't transpired like they had, HHH could say whatever he wanted in a promo and it wouldn't matter. Problem is, HHH has been booked to be a heel who always tells it like everyone sees it, where no one has the guts to come out and say it. His word carries a lot of weight. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 The idea that HH was telling the truth, at least in reference to this is completely wrong. He actually is talking out his ass, because while it may be true that Batista would have beaten JBL and Cena, it's patently false that HHH will defeat him at Wrestlemania. In fact, if HHH hadn't put so much promo effort into reminding everyone how great he is, I think everyone would have realized by now that Batista going over at Wrestlemania is a foregone conclusion. It makes sense to put Batista over now, given that promo, yes. It also made sense to have Booker T go over two years ago after the promos HHH cut. I want to believe Batista wins, but I am still nervous.
