Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 From WrestlingObserver.com by John Herbert They sectioned of an entire block on Hollywood blvd, in front of the Hollywood and Highland shopping center. Ring was set up, and the big Wrestlemania 21 tour bus that carried the superstars was right past the ring. The Fink comes out to first introduce Sgt. Slaughter and Ricky Steamboat. Both legends looked in good shape, and goofed around in the ring (Slaughter put him in the cobra clutch). They threw t shirts to the fans. Probably over 500 people watching the free show. The crowd was already going crazy for Cena. I sense LA is more of a Smackdown town, being that its 50% Latino and many people do not have cable. First match, La Resistance v Hurricane and Rosey. Superheroes interrupted the Canadian national anthem. Basic beat down on Hurricane, hot tag to Rosey, who finished off La Resistance. Stacey Kiebler comes out to say hello. Then Victoria beats Molly Holly. Michael Cole comes out to interview Trish about her title match. Kurt Angle comes out to a good response to face the local hometown hero, who kind of looked like Paul London. Angle hit a cheap shot, angle slam, ankle lock and it was over. Six man cruiserweight tag match: Paul London, Funaki, Nunzio defeated Spike Dudley, Akio, and Billy Kidman. Best action of the show. A few big highspots, and the crowd was completely into the match. John Cena came out to a huge response. He says Hollywood has a reputation for being fake, but he can see "this building, this palm tree, this, this, this, this, this, and none of it looks fake." Too bad we can't see John Cena. I think JBL appeared in the crowd and the two talk trash to each other. Cena went all throughout the crowd hitting high fives. Fun show, and it was cool seeing the WWE take over Hollywood, and set up shop amongst all of the weirdos that hang out there.
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 I like how the most over stuff in LA was the Cruiserweight action and they aren't even booked for the show itself.

Silence 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2005 No chance of a London/Psicosis match added on Heat? I read that the 30 Man Raw vs. Smackdown Battle Royal may be taking place on Heat instead.
