SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2006 Spoilers from Ain't It Cool News for the rest of the season. * President Roslin’s long cancer storyline would appear to come to an end (or at least a hiatus) tonight. Vice President Baltar watches as her condition worsens. * Shades of “Lost”! The season opener gave us a load of Tigh flashbacks. This week we get a surprising look at Roslin’s life on Caprica (and more than a glimpse of her boss, President Adar). Next week the memories belong to Apollo. * The episode is teeming with Cylon sympathizers - one of whom might be Pegasus-Six. * The spawn of Karl Agathon is said to play an important role this week. What might one expect as the second season wraps up? 2.14 “Black Market.” As Lee continues to come to grip with a troubling chapter in his pre-war life, the new commander of the Pegasus is found murdered. 2.15 “Scar.” As Kat emerges as a better pilot than Kara ever was, a troublesome Cylon raider keeps picking off fighters, and Kara starts to crawl inside a bottle. 2.16 “Sacrifice.” Vengeful terrorists, demanding that Boomer be handed over for execution, take Ellen Tigh, Lee Adama, Billy and Dee hostage – and a hammered Starbuck’s rescue attempt results in tragedy. 2.17 “The Captain’s Hand.” A raptor goes missing, and Apollo tries to mediate when Starbuck comes into conflict with the Pegasus’ new commander. 2.18 “Downloaded.” We follow Galactica-Boomer’s post-assassination afterlife as she is reborn on Cylon-occupied Caprica. 2.19-2.20 “Lay Down Your Burdens” The Cylons offer a peace offering – they will cease hostilities if the humans agree to worship the one true Cylon god and hand over a quota of people each year to participate in the Cylon breeding program. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 (edited) I'm surprised they haven't hyped the shit out of Dana Delany being on tonight's show. edit: Ellen Tigh must die. Edited February 11, 2006 by Y2Jerk
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2006 Question for anyone who watches the show: What the hell do you think is inside Baltar's head talking to him? It can't be the Cylon that was with him on Caprica (last night she didn't even know he was alive and no Cylon device was found in Baltar's head in "Home Part 2"), and it can't be his subconcious (also disproven in "Home Part 2" and "Six Degrees of Separation"). In "Home Part 2", she claims to be an angel of God, but I have a hard time accepting this given that she works to further the Cylon agenda and has often spoken as if she actually is a Cylon on multiple occasions. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2006 Last few episodes of this show have been incredible. As for what's in Baltar's head...no clue. What's in Caprica-Six's head? Good damn show.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 Maybe Baltar's a Cylon? Six had to seduce him to get him to help her.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 The Cylon episode was fantastic. It was interesting how adjusted as part of the cast Boomer, Six, and Baltar were, that an episode mostly from Cylon POV was still very engaging, after all we knew the characters. Really psyched for the 2 part season finale. Also want to see more of Apollo as Pegasus' captain.
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 That episode was really great. They totally changed up the whole way that the viewer sees the cylons now. The last 4 episodes have been really good and had great character development, but that's the only thing they were about, character development. It was nice to get back to moving the plot forward. And boy did they move the plot forward. Is it possible that whatever's in Six's mind is the same thing that's in Baltar's?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 When Caprica-Six and Baltar actually meet again, it's going to be wild. They're both harboring totally skewed visions of each other, and now working against the primary goals of their races--Baltar giving the nuke to Gina and attempting to seize the presidency, and Six smacking down Xena Warrior Cylon and apparently working for the benefit of humanity. They're both absolutely in love with what they think each other is, and bridging that gap is going to be wild.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Really psyched for the 2 part season finale. Also want to see more of Apollo as Pegasus' captain. Agreed...especially given the tension between Apollo and the Pegasus CAG during the Cain storyline when Lee was demoted. I'd assume the Pegasus crew would be cool with Apollo after he saved their asses last week and all, but you never know.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2006 Podcast from Ron Moore for "LAY DOWN YOUR BURDENS" Half-ass spoilage from AICN: Tonight brings the first hour of the 150-minute season finale. Word is a human-habitable planet – one not called Earth – is discovered. Tom Zarek reappears. And Starbuck begins sniffing around Caprica, perhaps on the lookout for boning material. That’s one of the things I love about “Battlestar Galactica,” the best ongoing franchise on television: Things change! At some point during “Lay Down Your Burdens,” the Cylons (led perhaps by Bill’s old miniseries nemesis Leoben Conoy) arrive and offer the Colonists peace. All the colonists have to do in return is give the Cylons a certain number of human beings each year to be used in Cylon medical experiments. And a lot of the humans say, “I know a good deal when I hear it!” If you listened to series mastermind Ron Moore’s podcast for “Downloaded” (last week’s Cylontastic installment), you know the all-robot alliance forged by Baltar’s Six and Tyrol’s Boomer is what precipitates the olive branch. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2006 Xena one week, Al the next. This show rules at guest stars. That had to be the longest teaser I've seen on any show, ever. In-fucking-tense. Anyone know a good place to get a deal on the first seasons DVDs? I can't find it anywhere in town and I'd like to catch up.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2006 That teaser did run long, but I remember Alias episodes where the credits didn't run until 11 or 12 minutes into the show. I guess you'd better try amazon.com or something. Word must've gotten out and every made a run for them. If Dean Stockwell isn't really a Cylon I'll eat a bug. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2006 Word? Spoiler text? You fiend. I found it for $40 on Buy.com.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2006 Word? Spoiler text? You fiend. I found it for $40 on Buy.com. The spoiler text was about something different. That buy.com price beats amazon.com's $48.96. Moore said on the podcast that he couldn't talk about Stockwell's character's background until next week.....hmmmmm... SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 (edited) Okay, all I have to say is OMG WTF Oh My Gods What The Frak? On a scale of 1 to 10, that episode was a 12. "Hi, have we met? I'm the biggest douche in the universe." edit: Thumbs up for having Roslin still watching over the half-Cylon baby and the return of Leoben. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 Seriously, I think I fucking love it. When I first saw "One Year Later" I was all "oh no you din't," but...it's ballsy. And nuts. In one year, Baltar managed to do what the Cylons couldn't: bring the last of humanity to its knees. Next season is going to be absolutely wild.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 Yeah, this move basically turns it into a completely different show. Instead of refugees fleeing a massive genocidal force in space we'll get subjugated people resisting an oppressive regime. I'm surprised they didn't have the Pegasus destroyed by the Cylons and Galactica jump away at the last second to justify the fleet cutting and running like that (although Lee's assertion that there was no point in fighting was technically correct, since there were at least a dozen Basestars in orbit). I'm curious to see how far Baltar's collaboration with the Cylons goes, and maybe they'll finally tell us what the hell's been in his head talking to him for the last 2 years. EricMM 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 This show continues to dabble in the political, what with the Cylons being "benevolent occupiers" and Starbuck continuning her mantra of "we'll fight them til we can't fight anymore" or whatever. Suffice to say I can't wait til Oct.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 I just saw the episode tonight... HOLY FUCKIN FRAKKIN FUCK! Ron Moore has balls. Big huge brass honkin' balls the size of grapefruits to do what he did for the last 30 minutes. The kinds of balls some of us yearned shows like Star Trek Voyager would have. I can't wait till the Adama Battlestars come back guns blazing. I think the Cylons are serious about not exterminating humanity (based on the war hero Six and Boomer's pledge), but the overall point will be, an occupation is still an occupation even of the occupiers "mean well", its still somebody else's troops in your street. EricMM 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 I just wonder who will fire the first shot. Will a cylon kill a human first or will it be vice versa?
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 Ron Moore said on the podcast that Edward James Olmos wasn't coming back next year. He might have been kidding since he also claimed they'd replace him with a CGI Adama (which he was definitely kidding about).
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2006 big HUGE FRAKKIN BALLS! I thought it was hilarious (and awesome) how in that year, Apollo got all fat and pudgy and Adama-like. I initially thought it was Baltar's dream after going to sleep, he was getting a vision of how frakked up the future was gonna be and it would cause him to pull back from the planet, but it soon became apparent, this shit is really happening. I wonder if Baltar will eventually be asasinated?
ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 Dear GOD that was an awesome episode. I'm so looking forward to the third season. Yeah, I loved the way they showed that the fleet had gotten complacent by showing Lee looking out of shape and all the little touches like that. Boy does this show have balls, being willing to shake up the status quo the way they did. Fuck, this show doesn't even HAVE a status quo, that's what makes it so great. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I had a weird thought...since he wasn't around when the Cylons invaded New Caprica, maybe Tom Zarek died when Gina blew up Cloud Nine. Or maybe he and Baltar had a falling out at some point in the year between Baltar's election and the Cylon invasion.
