I have a file that's in WMV format that I ned to show to a friend who doesn't have a computer. The obvious solution is to somehow get the file to play on a DVD so he can run it in a standard DVD Player. Now I know most DVD Players won't play WMV files, so can someone tell me exactly what I can do to convert this to a format that will run, and then burn it to a DVD-R that'll run on a stand alone DVD Player?

I have the same question, so I'm going to bump this thread with the hope that somebody can give some advice. I got a lot of CDs full of WMV, AVI, and MP(E)G files that I'd like to be able to play on my DVD player, but it never works.

First, you need a DVD burner and not just a regular CD burner.

Second, there IS a program that does it, my friend uses it to rip DVDs, but I don't have the name off-hand. My guess is, if you had a DVD burner it would be bundled with it....

Plus you need a decent DVD player(any normal one should play mpeg, I cant see what the problem you have there is with the mpeg files)
