I'm looking to call up some regular OVW guys in my game, but I have NO IDEA... what the gimmicks are of most of the talent besides MNM and Albright. Any insight on anyone would be helpful. This thread will be good for not just me, but anyone who has questions about OVW guys. I'll help out with anything I can, but others helping out would be great. Fro 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Okay, here goes, haha... Brent Albright "The Shooter" Brent Albright is basically doing a Benoit type gimmick. Good charisma and a very good worker. He wrestles a bit more like Malenko or Tazz than Benoit at this point. Really focuses on one body part and attacks it relentlessly. OVW TV Champ. Was heel but he got turned face by the crowd. Finisher is the crowbar, a UFC-style armbar. Andy Baker No idea Bamm Bamm This is Bamm Bamm Parsons Jimmy Snuka Jr. Hasn't appeared on TV yet. Chad Toland Tank Toland's "cousin". Turned Tank on his former partner Chris Cage. Used to wrestle for New Japan so he's really good, although he's small. Looks exactly like a smaller Ric Flair and even does a lot of the mannerisms (and has a pair of tights with "CT" interlocked like Flair does). He's sort of a whimp and cowardly. Da Beast Member of Bolin Services... moderate sized african-american hoss. Kenny Bolin Kenny "Starmaker" Bolin is the world's sleaziest manager. Very good on the mic but looks like trash and is a way overweight so WWE won't touch him. His gimmick is that he's a super-cheap con artist who promotes wrestlers and tries to place them in WWE. Runs a stable called "Bolin Services". The closest comparision I'd make would be to Bobby Heenan. Robert Brisko Senior OVW official Elijah Burke Was OVW Champion until last week. Firery african-american babyface which I'd compare to Booker T with more in-ring charisma but less on the mic (although he's getting a lot better). Lots of underdog babyface offense. Finisher is a facebuster and a top-rope sunset flip. Chris Cage Formerly known as "Hitman" Chris Cage. Wrestles like Bret. Used to team with Tank Toland. Currently banned from OVW due to a "lawsuit" from Tank Toland. Matt Capotelli Tough Enough 3 winner. Uses a shaky legdrop and a corkscrew crossbody. Half of a tag team with Johnny Jeter called the Thrillseekers, who use a double superkick as their finisher. Melissa Coates Muscular bodybuilder who was Jillian's Hall's bodyguard, although that angle appears to have been dropped. Nothing special, tags in and does a gorilla press. Not really big like a Chyna. Jerome Crony Bolin Services' accountant. A skinny guy who basically just gets beat up. Hasn't been seen in a while. Robbie Dawber Trudi Denucci Inferno's main squeeze from New Jersey Jillian Hall OVW's top female heel. Was chunky before but had quite a bit of work done and now is close to a dead ringer for Tammy Sytch. Uses a somersault legdrop, handstand splash, and a missle dropkick as finishers. Cornette has her managing The Toland cousins (aka the Blonde Bombers). She's pretty good in the ring and is probably the top female wrestler prospect they have. Dean Hill OVW Ring Announcer and Color Commentator with Cornette. Is a freaking huge (I'd say about 6'6"), former cop with a big handlebar mustache. Danny Inferno Formerly the Inferno Kid on the Indies for years. Was a member of the Jersey Shore Crew with Nova, Aaron "The Idol" Stevens. When Nova left to WWE, the Crew went their seperate ways. Inferno is from the "jersey streets" and is a babyface feuding with the stuckup Stevens. Mac Johnson Wirery African American babyface (maybe mixed ethnicity?) who teams with Seth Skyfire, runs in, and hits some dropkicks. Gets pretty good high up there. Bulking up a bit now. Johnny Jeter One half of the Thrillseekers with Matt Cappotelli, Jeter reminds everyone of a young Chris Jericho. This babyface was one of OVW's top workers but seems to have hit a wall recently and is blowing some spots. Signature moves are a jumping side kick and a top rope spin kick. Garrison Cade HBK Trainee who is going by "Lance Cade" again in OVW. Same basic gimmick as in WWE. Mac Johnson Chris Kay OVW referee who does some WWE work as well. Kousin Krazy Guy in a Hannibal Lector mask and a straitjacket who wrestled an unorthodox style and was unstoppable, unless you blew a whistle. He'd then stop fighting and get beat up. He had crazy hair like Eugene does and did stuff like airplane spins, etc. I still think this was Nick Dinsmore doing double-duty most of the time and an inspiration for the Eugene gimmick. Alexis Laree Babyface. Dressing like an annoying ska girl at this time. Good wrestler. Feuds with Jillian Hall a lot. Steven Lewington British wrestler, wanted to be a fighter pilot in the RAF but his eyesight wasn't good enough. Sort of wrestles like a mix between Davey and Dynamite, although he's not nearly as good as either yet. Goose Mahoney Seven (Mordecai) Doing a biker-type gimmick right now. Seems to have improved in the ring a bit. Morris Now "Mean" Mo Greene, very short guy dressed up like the Godfather. Great talker and would be a star if he was taller. Managing the Heartbreakers in OVW. Mike Mondo Looks exactly like Snitsky (Snitsky was brought in as Mike Mondo's "little" brother Mean Gene Mondo in OVW). Is a heel who beat Matt Morgan when he was face, so he's done the "Giant-Killer" gimmick since then. Is Blaster Lasheley's "drill sargeant". Member of Bolin Services. Great wrestler but is too small for WWE. Matt Morgan Tough Enough 2 competitor. Giant hoss... super roided, 6'10". Good on the mic and getting better in the ring. Does a vertical suplex into an STO, a Black Hole Slam, and some other neat moves as finishers these days. Has black hair and a goatee these days and has ditched the masked "Blueprint" gimmick. Says he's the "Blueprint" of what a wrestler should be. Beth Phoenix Aaron Steven's storyline girlfriend. Blonde, decent technical wrestler. Ray Ramsey The other OVW referee Seth Skyfire Chris Masters squashed him on Raw last week. Former skateboarding champion does a lot of high-flying moves. Half of a tag team with Mac Johnson. A little small. Probably OVW's best cruiserweight sized guy, Cornette sent him to work a ROH show. Aaron "The Idol" Stevens Part of the Jersey Shore Crew with Nova formerly, now he is out on his own playing a spoiled rich kid from Jersey. Synn Cornette's girlfriend. Overweight with red hair. Good talker. Managed a stable called the "Disciples of Synn" which has included various hosses... at one time she had Leviathan (Batista), Seven (Mordecai), and Tyson Tomko in the stable. Still manages Seven sometimes. John "Tank" Toland "Cousin" of Chad Toland. Tank is about 5'5" but super roided up. Used to team with Chris Cage but turned on him. Despite being vertically small, does quite a few power moves. Finisher is a spinning polish hammer. This heel is very good on the mic and in the ring but is unlikely to get a shot in WWE due to his size. Jillian Hall recently started managing he and Chad as the "Blonde Bombers".
