therealworldschampion Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I like the pick. With Simon bitching his way out of town most likely they needed a replacement, and this fits what they like to draft, multi-year starter that doesn't take plays off.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Tyler just about lost it in the chat (room name: tsmdraftdayhq) when the Steelers picked Heath Miller. This is quite entertaining.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Philly switching from Fred-Ex to Reggie Brown. What can he do for you? [/badjoke]
Damaramu Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I think the Browns got a steal with Poole. The problem with Poole last year wasn't his talent it was the fact that Bo Pelini's scheme sucked ass and it made the whole defense struggle. Pelini emphasized more technique and OU was used to just physicality and domination. Plus he had to pick up the slack for those shitty secondary players that were running around without Perkins.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Tyler just about lost it in the chat (room name: tsmdraftdayhq) when the Steelers picked Heath Miller. This is quite entertaining. In a good way or a bad way? Very happy to see Heath Miller get the first-round draw. Since I don't really follow the NFL much, I guess the Steelers are my new team.
therealworldschampion Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 LOVE the Reggie Brown pick, and on WIP right now Howard Eskin is sobbing like a little girl. Bye Freddie.
LaParkaMarka Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 So who will end up with Khalif Barnes?
the pinjockey Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 This coverage is a joke. How do you skip 3 picks and a trade in the SECOND ROUND? I understand doing that on day 2, but to skip second round picks to do packages on guys you are going to show 10 times tomorrow is a disgrace. I was shocked the Eagles did not take Barnes with the second round pick. After all the talk that he might be someone they could trade up to get, when they passed him over at 35 was odd.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 In a bad way. The Steelers DON'T THROW TO THE TIGHT END. They picked a recieving tight end in the first round to turn him into a blocking tight end. Biggest wasted pick EVER, especially when Justin Miller, Pool, Shaun Cody, etc. were still on the board.
Carnival Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I think the Browns got a steal with Poole. Where is Bo now? My friend used to work with him at NE. Bo offered him a job at OU but he didn't take it last. Did Bo really suck that bad at OU. Everyone here in NE wanted him to replace solich. Which i thought was crazy.
nogoodnick Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 The Steelers might be more inclined to throw to the TE now. They haven't reall had one with Miller's abilities. As for the trade Im guessing the Lions saw Cody on the board and decided it was too good an opportunity to pass up.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 They really won't. They never have and they never will. Cowher mentioned in his interview after the pick that Miller could "bulk up" and become a better blocker.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Heath Miller will be SUPER FULLBACK~
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 FIVE TIGHT END SET TIME
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Mike Sherman: "PASSS!~"
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 "Here's what they're going to do guys, it looks like they're lining up with 5 TE's, lots of big guys out there." "OK coach, want me to bring in the 4-6-" "NO DRAFT THE PUNTER~! Brett, get out of there we're putting in Rodgers."
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 DOUBLE COVER WALTER RASBY~~
therealworldschampion Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Arizona drafted J.J. Arrington, so the only team that the Bills can really trade Travis Henry to now is Philadephia. If the Eagles can get out of Day 1 with Patterson, Brown, a solid OL prospect and Travis Henry, the they really helped themselves.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 You seem to be really excited about Travis Henry there, realworldschampion.
yankovic fan Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Mike Vrabel is reminding me of Scott Peterson
therealworldschampion Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 You seem to be really excited about Travis Henry there, realworldschampion. I like the thought of putting him in the backfield next year and lining Westbrook out in the slot, creating matchup problems.
Vern Gagne Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 They really won't. They never have and they never will. Cowher mentioned in his interview after the pick that Miller could "bulk up" and become a better blocker. Roethlisberger with higher expectations and teams more prepared might be forced to use the TE more.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Still some really good defensive players left. I'm thinking Darryl Blackstock, Dan Cody, or Justin Miller at #58 for the Pack. Unless all 3 get taken.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Still some really good defensive players left. I'm thinking Darryl Blackstock, Dan Cody, or Justin Miller at #58 for the Pack. Unless all 3 get taken. I'm suprised that Blaystock aint been picked yet, but I wouldn't be suprised if the Bills take him.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I'm not saying I don't want them to use the TE more. I'm just saying that they won't.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Nick Collins, CB, Bumfuck U. --- Oye Packers Oye
therealworldschampion Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Green Bay now turns around and drafts a WR...
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Yet another "WTF" pick by Green Bay. Yeah THANK GOD THE DEFENSE IS ALRIGHT SO WE CAN CONCENTRATE ON OFFENSE.
Brett Favre Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Terry Bradway is a fucking genius. Drafts the best kicker in the draft (I didn't like the pick much) since Minnesota was going to pick him 2 spots away, and STILL gets Justin Miller with the 2nd 2nd round pick. So basically we traded the first rounder for a guy who we probably would have gotten in the first round in Miller and Doug Jolley. Excellent draft thus far.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Nick Collins, CB, Bumfuck U. --- Oye Packers Oye And now a WR?!?!?!?!?!?! OMG! *stares blankly* I live 15 mins from Lambeau, should i go over there and Kill Thompson?
