Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 (edited) Saw this on another board. We list 10 names for each pick, and the consensus choice of the board in say 10-15 minute timeframe. Is the pick. Remember this isn't who you think a team should draft, but who you think they will draft. I'll be away from the computer for awhile. So, if anyone wants to start this thing go ahead, or we can wait for more people. edit. to add draft order and picks. Let's say San Fran. gets until 4:00 TSM time. That way more people will have a chance to participate. 1. San Francisco QB-Alex Smith-Utah 2. Miami 3. Cleveland 4. Chicago 5. Tampa Bay 6. Tennessee 7. Minnesota (from Oakland) 8. Arizona 9. Washington 10. Detroit 11. Dallas 12. San Diego (from Giants) 13. Houston 14. Carolina 15. Kansas City 16. New Orleans 17. Cincinnati 18. Minnesota 19. St. Louis 20. Dallas (from Buffalo) 21. Jacksonville 22. Baltimore 23. Seattle 24. Green Bay 25. Washington (from Denver) 26. Oakland (from Jets) 27. Atlanta 28. San Diego 29. Indianapolis 30. Pittsburgh 31. Philadelphia 32. LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I guess I'll list 10 prospects for the top pick. Alex Smith, QB Aaron Rodgers, QB Ronnie Brown, RB Cadillac Williams, RB Cedric Benson, RB Antrel Rolle, CB Pac-Man Jones, CB Derrick Johnson, LB Braylon Edwards, WR Mike Williams, WR Everyone is saying that the Niners are taking Smith, so that's my vote for top pick. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I think they'll take Aaron Rodgers, although personally I think it's a tad retarded to go that route. They should go about drafting a quality defenwsive player, particularly on the d-line or the secondary as they have Julian Peterson roaming around in the middle making plays. Tough to decipher who are the big impact players this year, though. I don't think Smith or Rodgers are anywhere near good enough, but I feel at the QB position this is a year for a lot of raw players that need maturing in their system... Like Charlie Frye and Adrian McPherson (Who I'd really like to see get drafted by the Pack with their 3rd or 4th pick, and dump this O'Sullivan kid).. LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 McPherson will be good. The guy has a ridiculous amount of ability and potential, moreso than Aaron Rodgers. He will be a steal for someone in the 3rd round.
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I think Alex Smith will be the #1 pick. McPherson owned Rix at FSU. Whoever picks him up will probably have a solid QB in a year or two.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I'll add another vote for Alex Smith. Although, reports say the Niners are very interested in Braylon Edwards.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Alex Smith i believe will be the #1 draft pick. Might i add that im really glad to see for what feels like the first time in years that the first pick overall isn't a lock.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 22, 2005 San Francisco will take Alex Smith, with Edwards as potential "surprise". Is time up? When do we know to make the next pick
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 San Fran. selects QB-Alex Smith. Utah Miami is on the clock. For about 10-15 minutes. Aaron Rodgers, QB Ronnie Brown, RB Cadillac Williams, RB Cedric Benson, RB Antrel Rolle, CB Pac-Man Jones, CB Derrick Johnson, LB Braylon Edwards, WR Mike Williams, WR Troy Williamson, WR
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Miami will take RB Maurice Clarett, Ohio State
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 (edited) I disliked that post. Miami is gonna either trade down, or take RB-Ronnie Brown. Edited April 22, 2005 by Vern Gagne
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 22, 2005 If Miami keeps the pick, they will take Ronnie Brown, with Edwards once again being the potential "surprise".
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Edwars will probably fall to the Browns, where he'll be just another ho-hum player on a ho-hum team. The Browns really need an exciting, marketable player on their team. I know Cleveland will stay faithful regardless, but to me their team looks like more of a mess than any I see in today's league, except for maybe the Niners. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Cleveland already has KWII and solid #2 and #3 WRs, so Edwards would complete the Receiving corps. Of course, we won't be able to really take advantage of it until our QB of the future is ready.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 I agree, Ronnie Brown will be the Dolphins pick. Although they have so many needs, I think they would be wise to try and trade DOWN to acquire additional picks and possibly move Ricky Williams as well to anyone dumb enough to take the risk.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Ronnie Brown will be #2. However, from the sounds of it, Brown, Benson, Williams could all do a equally servicable job.

Of course, we won't be able to really take advantage of it until our QB of the future is ready. And who will that be? I say it'd be good for Cleveland to try again with a rookie QB. Smith or Rodgers, but Edwards seems like the type who would get pissed over being on a team with a losing record, so whatever team he ends up on better be able to engineer a quick turnaround. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 I've got a gut feeling that the Texans aren't going to take Barron unless A) Merriman, Ware, and Spears are all gone and B) Casserly wins his little pissing contest with Capers. Reports are saying that Capers wants to give Seth Wand another year and if he doesn't work out, work with what's looking to be a deeper OL class next year. Casserly, on the other hand, likes Barron's athletic ability and wants him if he's there and there's no other consensus better choice. As for all that talk about Pace, come on. How many NFL teams wouldn't want to pick him up given the chance? Most of them would give it a shot. Basically, some people are thinking that all this Barron talk is a big smoke screen. I personally don't know, since Casserly and Capers havn't had to hide their favorite choice very much until last year, and even then Dunta started emerging late as the front runner when it looked like DeAngelo Hall would be gone. I'm wary about Barron's perceived lack of work ethic. He sure does look like a beast though.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Anyone who thinks Green Bay is taking a QB in the first round, or maybe at all in this draft, is out of their fucking minds. Shadow's looks like the most accurate so far, except I'd have Minnesota and San Diego switching picks and Philly picking up Cadillac after he falls to them. Bucs will pick defense, they almost always do in the first round.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 23, 2005 You think Carnell will free-fall that much? I could see Philly or Baltimore trying to draft up to get Mike Williams. They need another go to receiver and I dont think he'll stay around that long. I also predict a player will wear an insanely crazy outfit that steals the media attention away.
